This was the exact point I was gonna make too. KD himself knows in his heart of hearts that the championships he won weren’t as satisfying as he thought because he didn’t get it out the mud like Giannis did. He went to Golden State and they won right away and had he not gotten hurt in 2019 they had a very good chance at a 3-peat. But he knows he would have been more satisfied winning in OKC. Even if they win in Brooklyn I doubt it’ll bring him the happiness he is seeking from winning because his teams are just so stacked against the deck. Same thing for Lebron, and I love Lebron, but his two chips in Miami and chip in LA don’t compare to what he did in Cleveland in 2016, and you can tell by his emotional reaction after their win.

Giannis' 1st ring is much more credible and valuable than KD's two rings simply because Giannis played with lesser talent than KD. And you can add the fact that he outdueled KD in Game 7 between the Bucks and Nets and he beat KD in that Game 7 to win that playoff series and eventually the championship. You can talk about injuries and luck playing a role which they did, but Giannis answered the bell every single time despite his deficiencies based on his shooting ability. This dude was never scared, never was shy in big moments, etc.. He simply didn't care and he kept attacking and he dominated. His performance in Game 6 was his greatest to date in his career thus far. A 50-piece and he shot 17-19 from the foul line. He wanted it more than anything. I've always respected Giannis based on his abilities, but my level of respect for him has grown a ton. He didn't jump ship after tough postseason losses. He stayed the course and he didn't need a super team to win a championship. Salute to you, Giannis. And congratulations on your 1st title, ring, and Finals MVP. - Sixers fan
