Great vid jay, little tip on the cooking, should put linguine in with the crab and juices to coat them then serve, looked awesome though.

One little chef hint (I learned it from my Uncle who went to cooking school), he taught me to strain the pasta once you get it to your desired doneness, and then use just a little bit of the pasta water to thicken and flavor your sauce. It has worked well for me, not sure if it is a myth lol but it has always made great sauces! Either way, that looked delicious!!

My wifes Italian, all her family cook this way, one of the best tips ever. That bit of starch water is the difference between a nice pasta dish and an elite pasta dish. The difference always astounds me, it really really makes the pasta and the sauce

My wife does this she's the best ❤

was going to say the same, cook the sauce till heated through, instead of cooking it down to thicken, add a little pasta water, and even a splash of cream or half and half to thicken the sauce.
@Njfishingmaniac Жыл бұрын
Great job out there… here’s a few tips. Strain that pasta so it’s not sopping the bowl with water. Mix that crab meat sauce into the linguini prior to plating. When plating, twirl that spaghetti on the way down very slowly so it always stays like a mound and not a plop. Top it with parsley and Parmesan. (You can also add Parmesan to that cream sauce as well). Al Dente is the way to go , mushy noodles yuck. I live off pasta and all kinds of it 👌🏼🤌🏼 … other than that, I would still inhale that plate brother well done.

Always add the pasta to the sauce in the pan for a good mix before serving. The bit of starchy water from the pasta cooking will enhance the sauce, making it richer and thicker.

Spaghetti twist: Use regular tongs, not fancy tips. Twist the spaghetti in the pot, lift and drop in the plate. It falls in a twist. If it is small, add a second one. Good video, yummy crabs 👍

Great stuff mate, i miss crabbing for brownies when i was a kid in Great Yarmouth, but now have to settle for catching blue swimmers here in Australia. Tip for the pasta twirl mate is to twist it in the air as you place it onto the plate 😊 hope this helps ✌️🇦🇺

if i may be so bold, when cooking crab or lobster avery good method is,,, bring pot of salted water to a rolling boil ,, put in crab or lobster , bring water back to a rolling boil , and time for 2 minuets, your shellfish is cooked to perfection ,,, try it see how you go, love the channel , stay lucky...oh forgot to say , this works for any size as the bigger they are the longer it takes to get back to a rolling boil , still time 2 minuets and its done .

Twisting tongs… the idea is to build the food high, looks better. Strain the pasta, keep a bit of the water to add to the sauce, add that extra butter at the end to thicken slightly. I’d recommend throwing the pasta in with crab etc, idea is to coat that pasta with the sauce

Never seen anyone using garfish as pot bait. We get reasonably good money for them on the fish market here, so they arent ever used. We are knee deep in herring for 8 months of the year, so most people salt herring down in barrels to last the summer.
