+unionrdr A friend in the Air Force built a huge rc A-10 that fired AGM-65 Maverick missiles using esties A8-6-5 model rocket motors. Very realistic and parachute recovered and reusable. He brought the nose of the A-10 up And popped of four of them using electric igniters and a servo to control the igniter circuit.

That wasn't a barrel roll. That was an aileron roll. Fail.
@stickfigureman7228 жыл бұрын
true... but if it was in space then it would not have been an aileron roll because you cant use ailerons in space XD
@ulaB8 жыл бұрын
+magicstix0r Are the control surfaces in that setup called ailerons too? Those are more of a mix between elevator, ailerons and rudder. So he basically used ailerons and rudder which would make this a barrel roll?

@rrengineer8 жыл бұрын
+Balu I went, but I did not see them. Too bad. These guys are really bringing fun back into this hobby that anyone can get into.
@ulaB8 жыл бұрын
+Mike MacLean Not sure what days they were there, but they had a big room for themselves and a blimp flying around. :) They did exactly what you like about them - bring people into the hobby... They built gliders with kids and their families and had them launched inside the room from the blimp... I'm in Germany, so I was only able to watch live footage from the event, but even that was a lot of fun to see :)
@rrengineer8 жыл бұрын
+Balu I saw the room you are talking about. It was across from the main exhibition hall. There were a lot of foamies and a GIANT blimp they would let people fly. I did not recognize any of them from their videos. I had spent a lot of time at the show before I saw the blimp and really was on the way home when I thought I would pop my head in. They were doing just like I said in my original comment. They were showing people what fun this hobby can be. Maybe I will get to meet them and talk to them about what good they are doing for the hobby next year. I hope they will be there.

We must band together to defeat what the FAA is trying to do to all of us. If we don't stand up now, none of us will be able to do things like this. Great video guys. You can build your dreams.
@southpaw78908 жыл бұрын
+RadicalRC I know this video is all in good fun and in a somewhat open controlled environment, but its videos just like this of some "Kid" for lack of a better term, a term that the government will use strapping a "explosive" which is what fireworks are on to a device that can be controlled with a high amount of accuracy. Just fly the damn things the way they were meant and just use some damn common sense, now we got all these morons that have no clue on how to fly but have more money than brains buying drones/quadcopters and flying them into active airspace, and even crashing one of the front lawn of the god damn white house. Cmon guys, the FAA already has enough to deal, lets not broadcast more for them to see.
@RadicalRC8 жыл бұрын
The crash on the front lawn of the White House was a government employee. As was the crash at the US Open tennis match into empty seating area. It's a violation of human decency to punish person "A" for what person "B" did. A kind of moral depravity only an evil and sick person or group would claim a right to do. There has never been a time when a depraved person could not do wrong to other human beings. Neither you or I deserve to be punished or have our peaceful activities restrained because of what some 3rd party did or could do. What we are talking about is a group of people who are claiming a right to profit on you and me, to prey upon you and me, to limit the future possibilities of you and me because of what some idiot did that neither you or I know. It's a predatory scheme. I realize we may not be able to stop the tyranny imposed on our peaceful daily activities, yet I don't have to accept or make excuses for it. The FAA is a criminal gang. I know neither of us would ever dream of interfering with a full scale aircraft or flying over people. We do not deserve to be punished or charged for the acts of a tiny microscopic minority. I am for Liberty. I oppose all objections to your and my Liberty to proceed through live peacefully. All the FAA is doing is like any other blood sucking vampire, they are seeking to increase their capacity to steal from you the unearned. Just because an enforcement agency claims or decree's something does not make it moral or ethical. I do not make excuses for predators. No person can earn a right to impose restrictions on the peaceful activities of others. No person can earn a right to impose fees on other persons merely for their capacity to use and enjoy technology. I am for Liberty. As to the firework, I admit discomfort. But the reason is that very ethically weak individuals will accept predators using the activities of one person to punish a million others. Sure, there have been flame throwers, pistols, fireworks and probably other things mounted to a model. This is done as click bait. It's advertising and entertainment. It's not a routine part of the hobby in any way. It's what an entertainer did. Am I to be restricted, fined, license fee'd because of what actors do? Should I fear every Hollywood movie which has even more reach than Flite Test? Is it ethical to punish thousands of peaceful people because of what an entertainer or movie producer dreams up? I am disgusted at the notion that any human would accept such actions as moral. To do so is to support the criminal and ignore the rights and pain of the peaceful victim. I am for Liberty. You will pay them or else. I write these these remarks not as a personal rebuttal but more as a general essay. I'm sick of being screwed, of bending over and taking the abuse over and over. I'm sick of it. It's time we stand up to predators and call what they do by it's proper name. Predation. I love my country, but what the FAA does and is planning to do to modeling they do not do in my name. NOT IN MY NAME.
