GIANT GOLDFISH in 400m of Water!! || Ruby Snapper VS Flame Tail CATCH and COOK

Yep... GIANT GOLDFISH!! This is what happens when you flush Fred the Goldfish down the toilet as a kid! haha Our second ever venture in to the deep sees us pushing out in some less than desirable conditions to go even deeper in search of some true beasts and we weren't disappointed! Finish the trip up with a big family cook-up to see what tasty red thing from the deep taste the best!?!? Flame Tail Snapper or Ruby Snapper?

Good effort boys! That green eye is very similar to the gummy shark down south. I bet it'd taste alright...... but probably nothing in comparison to the other fish.

yea it was a bit weird they didn't have that shark smell either so I was thinking they would probably be one of the better shark species to try and eat... may have to give it a try next time

@@CoastalChaosAdventures here south african east coast Kzn, get them on Same depth as you, about 100 fathoms to 400 .get Copper Steenbras, Cape Salmon (mulloway). Often pull them with bite marks. Allowed on commercial here 30 hooks. All by hand😁👍I cut 300mm strips and lash 3-4 on a 10/0 ,2 bottom big hooks, get wreckfish 40kilos, on 300m marks normally, they love it🤙😁👍

@@CoastalChaosAdventures I have a question, please, when powering electric reels do you use boat batteries, I guess with engine running, or you bring extra batteries? I have couple of Shimano BeastMaster9000 reels, which draw up to 35 amp each and want to try deep drop. Thanks in advance and again thanks for a great videos!

@@chelom92 mate I personally run a separate battery for my reel... I have a 100Ah Lithium that has just enough Amp Draw to handle the electric at full stress. It's light enough to take with me anywhere I go and I don't compromise any boat electrics with my draw etc running the engine, sounders, radio, stereo, electric motor and the likes... Just personal preference as I have quite a bit of draw from my standard electronics without throwing an electric reel in the mix but it would all be up to what you have running on your boat and what your boat battery setup is... personally I'd so some basic max draw calc's on what you have on your boat already and see if your current battery has the capacity to handle another 2 draw additions from the reels.

@@chelom92 yes mate or just one cheap deep cycle they have a heep more amp draw capacity so you can run both reels off the one battery... I doubt even a full day of deep dropping would come close to draining a 100ah its just the weight of them may put you off.

Bob you try winding up a 10kg fish from 400m I bet you'll only try it once! You can still sustainably fish with electric reels there's bag and size limits for a reason they're made for deep dropping
