Sea-Money Fishing

Sea-Money Fishing

Күн бұрын

Hot bluefish bite 10-15lbers with some small keeper size striped bass mixed in.
Action picks up around 13:00
Video is shot in Monmouth County NJ. There are Stripers and Blues roaming the beaches from Sandy Hook to LBI, finding the fish takes time and patience but when you do ITS ON.
LURE: 6" and 7" Tsunami Talkin Popper
ROD: Shimano Tiralejo 9'6
REEL: Penn Clash 5000
Thanks for watching. Also, I exaggerated the size of the bass in the vid, what I call 10lbs is probably more like 7 or 8 pounds haha

Surf casting doesn't get any better when it comes to topwater bluefish! Landed a 13 pounder in September during a huge blitz in southwestern CT. Your topwater vids are so exciting, I could keep watching them day after day! Can't wait for those April residential stripers and June blues!

Great video. Do you have any recommendations for a reasonable $$$ plugging set up. That looked like a Battle II reel, hence the question.
@ChrisMcIntee
@ChrisMcIntee 9 жыл бұрын
+woodchair6 Its a Penn Clash, that reel goes for just under 200$ which is great compared to the van staals and zeebass's that everyone else surfcasts with (those reels go fro $500-1200$). The Penn Battle's are great, so I've heard, I'd stick with a penn reel and then try to find a 9' rod throwing 1-3ounces. Tsunami, Tica and even st. croix. have pretty cheap surf rods that are high enough quality that you could expect them to last a couple seasons.

@ChrisMcIntee
@ChrisMcIntee 9 жыл бұрын
+Daniel Na thanks man I dont think maryland has much to offer the surf angler these days. You can certainly catch bass and bluefish, redfish as well, but action is scarce and I feel like they go weeks without seeing fish on their beaches. Good beach bites south of LBI (South Jersey, DE, MD) are rare any more. If you're talking about the chesapeake side of maryland you might run into some blitz like fishing, but I don't know first hand. The rt 50 bridge is your best bet for finding some stripers or blues in MD.

@ChrisMcIntee
@ChrisMcIntee 9 жыл бұрын
If you're fishing sea isle you might want to check out the 8th street jetty in Avalon, also the bridges going into each town, not a ton of fish down that way, more will show up as the season progresses but I haven't heard anything good from the beaches down that way, it's not easy to find the fish but when you do, all the skunked trips become worth it. I've had my share of skunks this year

@ChrisMcIntee
@ChrisMcIntee 9 жыл бұрын
+Dan 2c plus They rarely get into any hot bites in south jersey in the fall off the beaches but Thanksgiving is prime time and if you chunk/clam you could get a couple bites, most of the fish that time of year on bait are good size, 50lbers are beached every fall in cape may county, but it's definitely quality over quantity

Northern NJ but if I were to add a street name or exact location then the next time I fish there it would be crowded. Island beach state park up to sandy hook has been good for the past week but the fish move daily and in order to find them it takes a good amount of walking and driving. Binoculars would be a good thing to take along for any ride down to the surf

Chris Brooks Striped Bass and Bluefish are really good. Can't go wrong in the oven, grill, or frying pan for either one. Some of the bigger blues get stronger tasting but down here in Florida where I live we get nice little 20 inch grilling bluefish all the time. Blues are oily though so cook them with butter or no stick spray not olive oil.
