GIANT IDAHO BIGHORN!!! Sheep Hunt - Stuck N The Rut 172

Adam drew a once in a lifetime Idaho Bighorn Sheep Tag. To hunt bighorn sheep is a dream that many will never have the experience in doing. We made our trip down there, spent a couple days of glassing, and made the first day of sheep hunting season well worth our time with an 180" ram. Over canyons like that is a tough shot, good shooting to get that done. People are always so critical but they don’t understand the pressure of the situation with that many other hunters around with a once in a lifetime tag. Congrats, love your stuff.

Been on three Idaho bighorn hunts and have only seen one ram like that, and I have one in the Idaho record book, a California big horn. That is one heck of a keeper. Long range shooting is tough, lots of variables so we as hunters need to always keep that in mind. Congratulations!

Use headlamps that also have Red or Green light for getting in close or not disturbing animals on early morning entries. They don't react to Red/Green light but do easily see white light. It's the best way to come in under the cover of darkness. I have 2 head lamps with Red/Green and a small handheld. Also good for wet blood tracking right at dark if you are trying not to bump something hard.

That is a nice ram! The guys here are quite adept at the long range shots. I was surprised the ram didn't drop. Stuff happens and they followed up with the end resulting in a long pack and a restful nights sleep...sometime later.
