The medals in the machine probably get alot of wear and tear as they have have to be counted, are shot away, rub against each other, fall etc...

You store them in your gamecard, so that you can come back and withdraw some to play later.

Most of the time we would store them in the medal bank but when it was time to leave, we would try to play as much as we can and find a couple to give them out to.

Japan has all these complex pushers, but none of the arcades award prizes or tickets. It’s more of an adult day care. You buy in, kill a few hours at the machine, then leave empty handed. Still, pusher arcades and pachinko arcades remain extremely popular amongst retirees who regularly line up at 7AM just to be the first inside to sit at their favorite machine.
