There's just something so amazing about jellyfish... I could go to an aquarium and stare at them all day... they seem...... Magical. They're mesmerizing. You just can't take your eyes off of them.

Googled it and found this info: Growing up to 2 m (6 ft 7 feet) in diameter and weighing up to 200kg (440 lb), stings of this large jellyfish are painful, they are not usually toxic enough to cause serious harm in humans. However, the jellyfish's sting has been reported as fatal in some cases by causing a build-up of fluid in the lungs.

This is becoming a serious problem in the seas around Japan. What is worse is that as soon as these creatures are killed; right before death, the male and female jellyfishes release the eggs and sperms in the millions. Normally I dont watch National Geographics much but recently there was a documentary called 'Jellyfish Invasion' ; quite an eye opener.

You mean "Man O' War', and this is not a man o war. Those are colonies of polyps, with the head floating at the surface. This is, in fact, a jellyfish, and I believe the above poster is correct; it is a Lion's Mane Jelly.

What actually happened was I found it at the end of my garden and we started ripping bongs and getting real high, I can't remember much after that....
