I like how you say hydrocarbon fuel vs "fossil" fuel. Well done.
@adam346
@adam346 3 ай бұрын
not 100% on this so check my math... but the term fossil fuel may actually be a somewhat of a misnomer and many of the deposits of oil and natural gas could (I emphasize COULD) have been formed abiotically (w/o organic material) so the term hydrocarbon is just more accurate overall and encompasses a lot more... kind of like pronouns, they/them encompasses a lot more.

I have a 2 gallon bag, I've started using a Garage Boss Press 'N Pour Fuel Container Spout with my bag. I ride a Suzuki Burgman so my gas cap is low down between my feet. With the regular spout I could never get the gas into the tank before it was going all over the place. This is the first spout that I tried that fit perfectly with no seepage. Now it stays in the bag until I open the control valve. Makes the bag perfect!

I’m a convert from Rotopax myself. I used the 1 gallon Armadillo bag every day on a recent three day ride around a place where this is legal for fuel transportation. Easier to fill and dispense than I thought it would be (I use a large carabiner to hang it from my motorcycle handguards) and it’s light weight and being able to roll it up and stash it when empty is the best part.

Great video Ben. I just had a RotopaX 1 gallon jug leak on a trip from Cali to Montana. While nothing bad happened but not having the extra gallon of fuel really limited my pushing the range on my AT's tank. Also some of the fuel ran down between my camping gear dry bag and the aluminum plate it sits on. While no actual fuels seeped through the dry bag, there was a slight fuel smell that filtered through. Didn't really affect my sleeping stuff, but could have been a big deal. I think my next multi day trip I'll try one of these fuel bags....

HI I have a question that you partially covered in the video you said is fine to keep full for 1/2 week that's a lot more then I bought was ok I was thinking just 3-4 days ... and is a very welcome news I am planning to use it for long dual sport trip and I was thinking that I had to empty on a day by day use but is nice to know I can keep it as reserve for a bit more instead that would be very handy. my question is do you recommend to open the cap every now and then to avoid build up of pressure if I keep it inside for few days in hot summer condition or it will " stretch " a bit and is not needed? many thanks and very nice informative videos on your channel too
@GiantLoopMoto
@GiantLoopMoto 2 жыл бұрын
Yes definitely hold the bag upright and open the cap to vent pressure from time to time. The outer bag will prevent the inner bladder from expanding too much, but it's good to release the pressure occasionally.

I have 11.8L version and really happy with it. quick questions though. Am I suppose to "dry it out" after use? obviously there is always some petrol left behind after emptying the bag. Can I just leave it in there or do I need to leave the cap off? Second question: Can the bag be left outside? I assume the codura will experience UV degradation, but how would be bag hold up to being stored in a shaded/undercover area? Thanks

Just curious about care after use. Should I rinse it out with water and hang to dry with the cap off or just leave the cap on, roll it up and store it. Which would be better to help preserve the inner bladder?
@GiantLoopMoto
@GiantLoopMoto 4 ай бұрын
There's little to be done to preserve the inner plastics. Just store the bag in a dry and cool place if not used. Wash the exterior fabric with water and let it dry before storing it. In case of any problem with the bag, you can always contact our customer service. all our products have limited lifetime warranty.

I am looking at a very specific mount setup, hence the following question: Do the lengths listed in the dimensions include the handles, or just the "body of the bag?" I'd like a 2 gallon, but the length of 20.5 inches is pushing the max. If the handles make the overall length greater, then I'll have to settle for one or two 1 gallon bags. Thanks!
@GiantLoopMoto
@GiantLoopMoto Жыл бұрын
20.5 inches is the bag itself. Empty and with handles fully extended, it's 24 inches total. BUT the bag isn't as long when it's full because it poofs up in the middle which shrinks the overall length and the handles can easily be folded in to fit within the footprint of the bag.

I Am wondering if I should buy a 1 or 2 gallons bag, which one would you recomend the most
@GiantLoopMoto
@GiantLoopMoto 3 ай бұрын
The 1 gallon is usually more than enough for one person on a motorcycle. The 2 gallon is still ok for motorcycling, but it tends to become a tad too heavy. So if you are a solo rider, go for the 1 gallon and if there's 2 of you, go for the 2 gallons.

My guess is highly Not recommended to leave caps off fuel containers due to fire/explosion hazards, plus introduces opportunity for contaminents to enter.

Well, I had fuel in mine for a little over a week (yes I read the disclaimers) and had a catastrophic failure of the bag when driving. It started to gush out fuel through the seams while I was driving. Extremely messy on the side of the highway. Definitely NOT rated to be used for fuel at all (regular O87, ethanol free). I'm now extremely hesitant to ever buy one of these again and use it to carry any kind of fuel.
