What made you try for the Mackie at that time? Was it just a random thought or was it anything to do with the gutters, current or anything about the conditions at that time? Dont the Mackies oy come in close at a certain time of the year? Looks like this was at sunset?

Hey mate I know this is an old video, but hoping I can ask a question. Do you use shorter rods from the beach because you don’t have the bigger waves and breakers on the west coast? I am looking for a rod for land based but been looking at 9 foot + I am in QLD. Also love the vids hey!

Good video, some epic catches off the beach. 👍👍👍 Editing tip for you. Filming wildlife, makes for really interesting viewing, especially for overseas viewers unfamiliar with our native wildlife. Also a good move getting the thorny devil moved off the road. The “editing tip” is, don’t show yourself “handling protected native wildlife” if you don’t have a research permit from DPAW to do so. You see handling protected wildlife, is an offence under the Wildlife Act - defined as “taking protected wildlife” (taking = “to have in one’s possession”. The max fine is $10k or 12 months in jail. My point is - there’s no point “publishing the evidence” needed to convict you in court for an “over zealous” Wildlife Officer, looking for a slam dunk conviction - without having to leave the air conditioned comfort of his office. So yes, not saying don’t do it, just saying “don’t publish the handling part”, 😉👍 Keep up the good work. 👍
