Rhiannon S Every Elf on the Shelf is done differently depending on how the family chooses to do it. Some families do presents leading up to Christmas and some even use their elf to take away existing toys/future toys if bad behavior starts. All depends! 🎄

I agree. It's hard to explain to my children, who watch the vlogs, why they don't get as much as Gaines and why their elf isn't bringing them presents. I lost my husband, I'm a single mom struggling to have a decent Christmas for my 2 children and this kind of rubs it all in my face.

ZiasNonna unfortunately life isn’t fair, everyone has their own elf’s as a child I never thought Santa loved me less when I didn’t get something a friend did. Perhaps you are projecting on to your kids, living in envy for others will bring unrest in your own life, so I would reevaluate if watching other people’s lives was healthy for you right now in your situation. I am however sorry for your loss. Protect yourself by filtering what you see, but don’t let yourself become resentful of others, your kids will pick up on that and then they will not be content with what they have.
