Hi there. Thanks for watching! I would consider making it at least 7-9 layers of news paper for a pretty sturdy costume. I have made some pinatas (11-12 layers) that were so hard to break that my family had to use their hands to rip it apart. Even punching at times. Mind you, they were adults that got the last throws and got the candy out. lol. Let me know how it goes for you. I would really like to get an update on your project.

@the12makeit3 ай бұрын
I honestly feel that it will not be strong enough with only 2 layers if you wish to use it as a hang and hit piñata. I think it would be to not be sturdy enough to hold treats. If it being used for a different project like a centerpiece then it may hold a bit however, once its painted the paper will begin to wrinkle or warp and more than likely collapse. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. Thank you for the question. I do have a video of different layers and having a 5 pound weight land on them to show how sturdy each layer will be. Not sure if anyone else asked this but Can I just pop the ball while it’s inside instead of letting the air out?
@the12makeit Жыл бұрын
Hi there. Thanks for watching. Sure you can pop the ball instead of waiting for the air to come out. However, if you want to reuse the ball for other pinatas or for using at the beach at a later time, then I would suggest to let the air out through the air hole. You can place a straw in the air hole to allow the air to come faster. Best of luck to you in your project if you make one. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Here is the link to the video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m2OnaGuplKdlfc0si=ni0KdELB9ZN9MBXp I use the rope this way as it I believe gives a better hold than other pinata makers that just add the rope by making 2 holes around the top. My thoughts are that the weight of the pinata and candy will not hold well if you add the rope like other do. I like it to be around the whole ball.

Hi, I know you have another video with a ball and rope but I was curious what do you do to close that hole, and how much candy can it carry so it can hang without breaking. I know you can fill up a piñata but if it’s to much candy the heaviness with break it before we do, so I’m very curious. Please let me know. Thank you for your time and amazing job/ videos
@the12makeit3 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Thank you for watching and for your kind comments! You can close the hole by adding a piece of cardstock paper as small "hid" to open and close. I usually leave it as is. As far as candy, it depends on how many layers you make the piñata ball. I normally make the main balloon at least 9 layers. I had parties where a 9 layer piñata took about 15 people (no blindfold). If I want lots of people to hit it, I make it with 10-12 layers. For the size of this piñata, I added about 5-7 fun size bags of candy or 2-3 bags of big bulk party candy bags. Keep in mind that the rope I use is not just any rope. I only use "Red Heart" nylon crochet thread. Trust me, it makes a big difference in holding the piñata. You don't want all that work to just use a simple twin only to have the string rip and the piñata fall to the ground only after a few hits. I'm currently uploading a new piñata video and should be available shortly so stay tuned.

Hi there. Great Question. You could add a circle cut out of card stock or poster board to cover the hole and then apply paper mache over it to seal it. Do you think this could be complete in 4 days?? Allowing for drying time? Do you double layer in one day to make it go by faster? I need this project completed in 4 days :( !!!!!
@the12makeit3 жыл бұрын
Hi there, Thanks for watching! Depending on the area, if its cold, it might be done in four days. I have a room in my home that gets warm and that's where I leave my piñatas to dry faster. You can also place it out the in sun if its warm outside. You can also use a hair dryer to make the process a bit faster but be careful and watch for the balloon to expand as the balloon can pop or the paper mache can tear if expanded to much when using the hair dryer. If you use the hair dryer, do it for a few minutes then let it cool for a bit and repeat. I do several layers in one sitting when applying the paper. Keep in mind, double layer just means 2 layers. So sometimes do 3 "double layers" for a total of 6 layers, then I let it dry. I normally do a average of a total of 9 layers (5-6 layers the first day then let that dry then another 3-4 layers on the second day) for a stronger pinata. Sorry for the long message but I hope this helps.
