I love how humble Samantha is, especially in these days with so many youtubers pretending to be chefs at a 2 Michelin star restaurant

Does anyone else know this as pazookie?? Not even sure about the spelling on that, but I think it's short for pizza cookie. You just can't go wrong with it, especially with ice cream scooped on while it's still hot. One of my favorite desserts to go at with friends, just eating it straight out of the skillet.

One of the things I appreciate about Samantha's recipes: They all seem to be no fuss... So what if you don't do it exactly right. Forgiving is the word she used in her banana scones.

I love how casual this recipe is and flexible too like you can improvise it as you see fit.

Ah, I love a good recipe where I already have all the ingredients in my pantry. I can satisfy a craving without having to hunt down something fancy.

Can this be made in a brownie pan for bar cookies? My skillet isn’t that big.

Careful, Sam Sifton and the NYT Cooking Police will be knocking on your door in the middle of the night to haul you off to the Kitchen Reformatory School that they run in an undisclosed location in New Jersey.

I follow this recipe, but bake it in a 9x13 pan. That way I can cut it into uniform rectangles.

The bottom area of a 12-inch cast-iron skillet is about 78 square inches, so any pan with that approximate area, like an 8- or 9-inch square baking pan, should work for this recipe.

I'm counting down the minutes til this stick of butter is soft enough for me to try this, swapping out the walnuts for shredded coconut 🤤

If you want to use butter straight from the fridge, for a recipe that asks for room temp butter, you can just cut the amount in cubes and microwave it seconds at a time until it's soft but not melted :) (microwaving the whole stick would end up in melted exterior and hard interior). Coconut sounds delicious!

even though I bookmarked another nyt yt video for chocolate chip cookies, I feel like I will most likely end up baking this one (just for simplicity's sake)... but I might ball up just a few scoops to freeze for a rainy day (small cookies)... honestly the scoops of vanilla ice cream at the very end, that seems like the perfect touch... thanks for sharing this

I absolutely love starting the video off like one of those recipe sites where you just want a recipe for cookies or brownies but they tell you a manufactured story about their childhood and parents so you have to scroll to get to what you want.

Sorry NYT cooking! Will pass this including her last 3 ingredient peanut butter cookies. Truly I prefer Melissa Clark and Claire’s legit desserts. I will take Eric Kim! At least he shows authentic stuff from his country. The above recipe is a weekend recipe for most families with kids. No brainer! Truly nothing new or creative here. Surely it’s a very well edited video without substance! 😢 Sometimes I feel lost at what you are showing!😮😮 I will def take authentic ppl making their authentic foods!

stupid comment. are you implying Samantha can only make Sri Lankan food because of her roots? she’s been nominated for several awards for her MULTIPLE cookbooks and is well known across the food sphere, just because this recipe is simple doesn’t mean Samantha didn’t take time to develop it and make it easy for us home cooks to replicate.
