Guy that wrote 'Freedom Jazz Dance' for 'Miles Smiles' .. now I see why Miles dug him .. I'm reminded of Greg Howe's live version at NAMM - the same bounce in the two feel and the same focus on the maj7/9s in the 251s - like how I hear it ... but a bit heavier on the notes, I love it !! So great, and WAY ahead of his time. Needless to say, the phrases and note choices are Killin, and the tempo and contagious swinging don't budge when the rhythm section drops out. Beautiful!
