I was always taught to only take one claw from a stone crab. Yes it’s legal to take both. But statistics show by leaving one, the crab is very very likely to survive to grow another. As the can defend themselves with just one. Years ago I was a tropical invertebrate ecologist, and I just ask that folks take one and leave the other. In my opinion it’s a great idea, as even though you’re throwing a live crab back, it’s odds of survival aren’t very high with no claws.

Same. I guess when regular people go out it's more like how many claws do you need at the end of the day and once you hit your quota turn them lose with an extra claw. At least they're going back into the water either way.

Man, I can't watch anymore of you videos right now because I'm starving. Great videos. I use to live in WPB back in the 89-90 and never got to fish Lake Okeechobee, only the canals around there. And then half a dozen charters.

Her crab cracker reminded me of an old walnut / pecan cracker my Grandfather had and used for YEARS !!! Except his had a Pecan wood base and an adjustable sleeved slot where the nut would lay .. Cool though 👍 And thanks for stirring up an old memory !! 😊 Lost Papa quite a few years back... ❤️👼 God Bless !
