We were fishing a similar pattern up in Minnesota this fall. Huge 13-16" crappies and dinner plate sized bluegills mixed on a deep weed edge that dropped from 15' down to 35' of water in the space of 20 yards like a long wall. In the mornings and evenings they'd push up suspended against the edge and ball up schools of baitfish. We were using ice tungsten jigs tipped with pieces of Kalin Weenie worms, "ned" worms,, etc. My wife raided the bargain bin at the chain sporting goods store in our area and used just about every odd color under the rainbow and they bit- the trick was using braided line and the tungsten jigs to pick up on the sensitive bite. They hit it like a baby crappie, and a lot of times as the jig was on the drop. Fun trip, can't wait til' we go again next year🙂

Brother our crappie in east Tennessee are Killin it right now. They are huge and consistently holding in huge groups and we don't have a buncha babies to wed through hardly. Health and population of or crappie is Bethany I've ever seen it. Glad y'all's catchin big ones too

@@2ballsyourjaws once this nasty cold front passes through I'm going to get out on the ice after them at the local lakes too....though a "big" one in my area is typically 9-11"

@@StormLaker we don't really get to I've fish in my area the water moves too much I guess I'm not very educated with how that works but we have some beautiful water that's holding great fish and not just crappie it's all our fish really surprisingly. I'm almost 40 and have never seen the fish doing this good.

@@2ballsyourjaws Our "high" for Friday and Saturday will be -10 degrees, and I'm really shocked that it's not going to stay around 0 for a few days after- going right back up to the 20's. New Year's weekend will be go time for hardwater fishing🙂

Those little swimbaits will catch just about anything. I actually caught a 5lb German carp on one the other day. I always thought carp were bottom feeders, and not predators, but this one actually ate my lure. First time I've ever caught one on a lure. Thought I had a big Ole bass at first, until I actually seen what it was 😆

Randy Blaukat is hating on you, saying you're not a true "primal" bass fisherman because you use livescope 🤣, he can take his $10 pos jig and keep finishing in 120th place with his primal technique. Ben Milliken is the BBK #BigBassKing
@MJ_Bass Жыл бұрын
He’ll catch like two first day, then “swing for the fences” and throw a big bait the next. Couldn’t possibly be his lack of fishing skills responsible for his bad finishes 😂

Hey, how about a drone lure with sonar that would find the biggest fish in the area, swim up to it, deploy its hooks and harass it till it bites,heck, you could play a video game on your phone until the fish bites.

Watching these gents catch crappie with forward facing sonar on you tube. It’s just one of those things when you see it you, you know it’s wrong .. Their next series should be about deer hunting with spotlights … Overal, there may be no empirical data yet, but I hypothesize, these average Joe’s are out there in the middle of the lake catching females full of eggs. These are the fish that historically would be uncatchable. I hypothesize five years from now we’re gonna find out we decimated our fish population, crappie catching is too easy… My to do List, FFS crappie, spotlight a deer, buy a chick on OF… 😿 Saddness
