Yes for sure. Back in 6th gen and then a bit into 7th gen, we had this thing called the middle market where this kind of game would come out. Nowadays you're either an indie or a publisher mega conglomerate like EA with very few small 3rd party devs. It used to be where we got games with an indie spirit but a higher concept and budget like Hitman, but not such a high budget that it's what EA puts out.

It's one of those games that would have been mildly interesting in 2008, and it seems like Itagaki doesn't have the resources he USED to have to polish games like he used to back in his Team Ninja days.

Only reason why Critics hate it its because they barely even played through the game, and most of them didn;t even bother with the multiplayer. Sure the game isn't perfect especially with its frame rate issues, but it doesn't deserve such harsh reviews as such.

Itagaki was right about the games media. How is it even possible not to know how to do the aim or melee shot after hours of play? Both are taught via button prompts at the very beginning of the game and in the case of the aim shot the game actually requires you do it before you can continue

+teqzilla Well the game is still kinda janky. Still though, they don't even run, try to block really or even dodge. SO it's been difficult to get a get idea of just what' the combat is truly capable of. When it hits PC and gets any sort of reasonable playerbase going, that can crack that open.

I just played through the first two levels of Devil's Third and I don't understand where all the hate for it is coming from. It's not GREAT, but it's absolutely not BAD. The controls are good, the combination of melee and shooting combat is fun, and the story is like a goofy action b-movie.

I also find it unattractive and the melee alone, even if what you said was to be true, does not redeem the 60$ tag. 15$ at best when you offer a 6h campaign and an alright but empty multiplayer.

If it drops in price I buy, if it doesnt too bad I'm not interested. Probably why i dont buy most Nintendo games. I thought 50$ for windwaker HD was a lot, that 60$ for splatoon on release was a lot, that 50$ for 11h of DKC returns was a lot, that 50$ for Majora's mask 3D was a lot when you can get it for free on any emulation site... But this game definitely earns the award of most dodgiest pricing of the year. Seeing the population level on its multiplayer aspect, I now see I'm not the only one who feels that way.

And D3 fits into that category as well especially since it only existed because it was salvaged by N, You can't expect to have money thrown out the window with hard copies manufacturing. Sorry to say. Can't turn around after and whine about how WiiU has no third party support when the hard drive is so small. The rest of the industry is shifting quickly to massively digital, it's practical for gamers, publishers and devs alike.

+Venser More and more bullet sponges, turret sections, the same killing animations from start to finish from what I've seen from Best Friends Play. Gun play seem to take up majority of the game and it looks like the weakest part of the gameplay.

+SJ.Fox Gunplay seems blanced with the melee so neither overpowers the other. Not sure about the rest of what you said though as those are all tropes of modern FPS and TPS games, bullet sponge enemies always pop up in late game in most games, there's usually a turret section, and melee death animations are always recycled. Even then though there are different animations for the weapons and different death animations for certain enemies.

+Venser There are bugs. The usual one I see are the LOD loading ones where textures can sometimes fail to render or render slowly, but that's a UE3 thing.

Yeah, that's super weird to be honest? The US is under the same location restrictions as Japan, while Aus and a majority of Oceania is grouped with Europe. They region locked it to the code that covers most of the world then did absolutely NO MARKETING for them. I had to convince the guy at EB games that it was a real thing that'd released when I picked it up and subsequently returned it to them.

I was looking forward to this game. Unfortunately I could find it online. I searched on the eshop and downloaded. The game teaches you how to use the moves. It's up to you to learn how to use them to your advantage againt tough opponents. You have to be able to know when to dodge. You can roll dodge, weave with timing and direcrion and block, all using button L along with the left analog. The game is challenging after the tutorial early stages. This game is interesting. You want to continue and progress and try again after lose. This game makes you sharp. If not, you not going to progress very far. Online is where you test your skills. Fast pace, immediate respawn, fun, crazy brawl in close quarters, tons of upgrading gear, original multi player modes, along with team death match and free for all. I really enjoying the online modes. Single player is good, it interesting. Plus you really learn to use the moves sets

Judging from what I saw during the Best Friends LP, most of the cutscenes in this game aren't anywhere near the level that the drum solo cutscene was. Frankly, it just turns into generic military/Call of Duty bullshit, except with a Russian dude.

"Whoever gets the first hits in tends to win the melee". Have you guys tried blocking and dodging? I've been watching multiplayer matches and this is hardly true. It's only true if you take too long to switch out to melee or button mash when caught off guard. Anyway still looking forward to it when it comes to PC. People still gonna keep hating on it though, oh well. But this is going to be a balanced version of GunZ to me since modern FPS and the standard TPS does nothing for me.

+SaintAlia_of_the_Games got the game played it alot online it doesn't matter who gets the first hit you can turn it around on them by doging switching weapons if you have a faster weapon block then counter when they have a opening. roll back and shoot or lock on attack. There are other ways to win in close combat you get better as you play.
