I had no idea he had a weakness, and I couldn't figure out how to not let him regenerate health. But now I see that if you repeatedly attack him while he's doing his absorb animation, he'll absorb your shots of any kind.

It actually seems deliberate? Doppler and his patients are the first examples of “infected” Mavericks in the franchise not counting Sigma. The theme was used for a robot using the body of the original carrier, which would be destroyed for good. Sorta like bookends.

Im watching this because I was playing the Legacy Collection version and. BRO. WTF, the Dr. Dopple I fought was ALWAYS making his regenaration animation after the firing dash. It took me like 5 lives to beat him.

If Doppler is standing still, he will always activate the barrier when you push the shoot button. The best time to hit him is when he's recovering from the dash attack. He always aims for X, so you'll have the most time if you make him fly up first.

I remember the unfortunate luck of launching a Z saber blast at him JUUUST as he put up his green force field. That's what is dangerous about him with charged shots is that he can heal from the secondary damage even if the first attack does cause damage I've seen it before and it's a huge pain to deal with. I'm guessing that's why you only tried to hit with one acid ball at a time instead of trying to hit him with both just in case he tried to switch on his healing force field correct?

Yeah, I think he's more likely to use that absorption field if you attack him more frequently.

@@WilliamDearthwd Well check it out sometime it's quite fun though do be aware that if you attack the mosquito mini boss as Zero then the same outcome happens as in the regular game. Beyond that in the hack zero can never die in the game just like X.

This exact same thing happened to me and it's one of the few things I remember along with the music from playing X3 over a decade ago. What's worse was Doppler had 2 segments worth of health left and I thought "I'm gonna absolutely destroy him." He gained about 75% of his health back 😭

Lol, I don’t know the trick that he regenerated, but I over powered his regeneration with the acid ball.

He's a cyborg. And I suppose the cybernetic part of him was corrupted by that Sigma virus.

@@WilliamDearthwd oh that probably make him one of the first , since around zero era they transform weil in one too or something similar , oh actually thinking now is possible that is the reason humans waited so long for not using robots parts is due the risk of the virus .

If you want so can charge up acid for a double shot and beat him much faster

I kind of forgot about it. I was just following a basic maneuver and was focused on doing a normal shot.
