I have noticed lately that Dom is coming through louder and clearer than Jimmy. This is most noticeable at night when I have to turn the volume up louder so I can hear Jimmy clearly and then Dom is overly loud for me (though not extreme, it is very noticeable). You guys may want to use a dB meter to clearly see that your levels are they same. I doubt it would show that they are equal but if it does it’s possible there is low end boosting Jimmy’s volume or the meter is on a slow setting and comparing the loudest peaks rather than comparing the sustained, average volume. Long time listener and I love the show! Hope you guys make this slight adjustment!

So, Jimmy brought up the point that people could only get to a certain height, or they would begin having medical issues. I remember years ago watching a documentary (?) about the great B-movie, "Attack of the 50 Foot Woman" and them saying that humans couldn't get that tall. Why? Giraffes grow to 18 feet, there were dinosaurs that were 25 and 30 feet. I guess I don't understand the physics of growth? Still keep up the great work and G-D bless.

He states that 10 unreliable guys whom God rebuked presented an “evil report” wherein they merely asserted that: they made five mere assertions and contradicted Moses, Caleb, Joshua, God, and the rest of the whole Bible. I find the argument concerning Goliath’s death by slingshot (a word that properly refers to that which is slung, rather than the sling) rather unconvincing. They have been used for warfare, and hunting for millennia. Their use against healthy humans, as well as creatures with eyesight, and reflexes superior to ours indicates that being killed by a slinger is not necessarily indicative of ill-health on the part of the slingee. Post Scriptum: I quite enjoyed the episode.

I lived in Alton, Ill. nor a few years. I went to Church at Main Street United Methodist Church in Alton. That is where Robert Wadlow was a member. The church's gym was called Wadlow Hall. A life size picture of Robert was on the wall. By all accounts Robert was a very kind young man and a devout Christian. Also you should check out the Osage Tribe. They were extraordinarily tall. The average warrior 6'6" tall. Their chief White Hair was 7'2" Also they were monotheists who claim to be the priestly caste of the Mound Builders of Cahokia, Illinois. Their name for God is Wakonda. They spoke a Siouxan language called Dhegehan Sioux. Francis La Flesche was an anthropologist who wrote of them. La Flesche was a member of the Omaha tribe. The way the Osage preserved their culture is fascinating. Their traditions merge well with Christianity. Of course these are a people closely related to Black Elk. The Osage and their cousins the Quapaw were the tribes that occupied your area of Arkansas.

The canon isn't necessarily CLOSED. Trent just lists books that are canon and it lists the books in the Latin Vulgate. There are Septuagint books that are not in the Vulgate that have been considered scripture by Greek and Slavic Christians, but since these Christians share all the canon with Rome, they aren't condemned by Trent at all.

There is also a limit to how tall someone can get due to the Square Cube law, and bone strength comes from surface area not volume. As someone gets taller the surface area of a bone squares, but the volume triples. So at a certain point volume's mass will surpass the strength of bone, and it will crush under its own weight. Therefore we have a height limit of approximately 10 to 11 feet.

Well it’s not so simple. If you make a man 20 foot tall you must change many things. The heart must change its size and structure. An elephants heart rate is maybe 6 beats a minute. The bone structure must also change more like an elephant’s. The blood pressure needed to get blood up to the head is higher than the normal 130/80. A lot of changes need to be re engineered to make a viable giant. I have always thought that the giants were made to form slaves or warriors. Yes they needed a huge amount of food to survive. What would they eat? Anything they could. No I really don’t know. I’m just guessing.

Humans would be incapable of reaching that height (15+ ft) as their bodies would be unable to support themselves. We would litterally be crushed under our own weight. There is a reason the biggest animals in the world reside in the ocean. Elephants can get that big as they are not bipedal. Their weight is more evenly distributed. Even so. Elephant's are incapable of jumping. A warrior would need to be agile, someone of that stature would not be. Ungodly strong? Possibly. Quick and limber? No.

One set of large people are a result of a gland issue. The Nephilim are basically gaints that bodies are proportional to their weight and strength. I’ve basically seen giants that was maybe only 5’10”. Even though their height wasn’t impressive. There hands,legs and strength were above average humans.

I'm a 5'7" girl from the Philippines so everything is smaller than appropriate for your height so you constantly have to stoop low. OK. So time for the facts jack.... Many many languages are translated into other languages, but not always is the translated word the same as the other one. This is rampant in the new testament Bible. If you read Hebrew, you already know that. If you don't, then you need to research it. Giant is not the right meaning of the original Hebrew word. If I said Henry Ford was a Giant of industry, does that mean he is big? In body stature? Not at all.. That's how you get jolly green Giants in the new testament. All the Giants I am aware of are either from San Francisco or New York. 😄 But seriously, I was remembering while watching the episode that I read an article a number of years ago that said the average body weight of our WWII solders was about 120 lb., which is around the average weight of a boy in junior high school today. The article stated that nutrition was largely responsible for the increase in body weight and height over time. It makes me think that WWII veterans still living might think of young adults of today as "giants" compared to when they were young.

Here's an interesting little tie-in: St Ephrem the Syrian (d.373AD), my beloved confirmation saint, was one of the strongest proponents of the Sethite view of Genesis 6 (i.e. that the 'Sons of God' were actually the descendants of Seth, and that they coupled with the descendants of Cain, the 'Daughters of Men'). His explanation for the presence of giants is that the Children of Cain were weak and lacking nutrition because they sought to get their food from a ground that had been cursed by God. They were small and weak as a result of frequent bad harvests. The Sons of Seth were strong and powerful because they lived close to the borders of Eden, where all was in abundance. Thus, after the two groups were mingled, the children of the weak Cainites were suddenly strong and tall because of their Sethite fathers.

Don’t want to get winded with my comment. Is there a difference with people of fall stature like Shaq and maybe someone like Andre the Giant. Andre was by plenty accounts barely 7 feet tall. What about women of tall stature like Sandy Allen who was 7’7” before her passing. There are anomalies like Adam Rainer who for most of life was less than five feet tall only to pass away at over 7 feet because of a pituitary issue. Only person to be born a dwarf and die a giant

If, “post flood that the wives of Japheth and Ham carried genetics to produce new post flood nephilim” then God failed, He wasn’t smart enough to catch that loophole, and the flood was much of a waste. You noted, “numerous other assertions of nephilim” but only appealed to texts about Rephaim. Yet, Nephilim were strictly pre-flood hybrids, Rephaim were strictly post-flood humans, and there’s zero correlation between them.

Yet, the earlier LXX and the earlier Dead Sea Scrolls and the earlier Flavius Josephus all have him at just shy of 7 ft.--compared to the average Israelite male who was 5.0-5.3 ft. in those days. He had a guy assisting with the equipment. Regular guy Benaiah took a spear like a weaver’s beam, just like Goliath’s, from an 7.5 ft. Egyptian and successfully wielded it against him in hand-to-hand combat (2 Sam 23). Also, you can search for strongman or weightlifting competition vids and see guys who are around 6 ft. lifting 1,000 lbs.

I'm Catholic that have gone to other churches out of proximity. But no other church has the miracles that have been witnessed by thousands. Nor have any other church have the uncorruptible the saints that after 100yrs of death look like they are just sleeping they are not rotting or smell but look more beautiful than in life. Many if your explanations of things like regression to the mean would make for great shorts to boost your channel's views and as videos you can put in show notes when the concepts get referenced later. An interesting and intelligent video. I wonder about angels. You said angels have no physical body, but in the story of Lot and his family who lived in one of the cities Sodom and Gomorrah and three angels went in to warn Lot and his family to leave the city. The angels were described as appearing to be normal men. Is it possible angels are able to become like humans and have a physical body? If so, it would explain how fallen angels could have taken human wives and have children by them. That would seem to make sense since the Bible states the sons of God took for themselves wives of the daughters of men and produced mighty men of renown. I've heard of a few theories about it, but I doubt there's any way knowing for sure about some things of the distant past.

That "angels have no physical body" is a man-made tradition partly based on mistranslating one word as "spirit" when it should be "winds." It's also not a case of, "able to become like humans and have a physical body" since there's no indication of that. "how fallen angels could have taken human wives and have children by them" is simple: Angels are always described as looking like human males, performing physical actions, and without indication that such isn’t their ontology. See my book, “What Does the Bible Say About Angels? A Styled Angelology.” That's biblically verifiable and so is preferable over speculating to assist an un-biblical man-made tradition.
