Just looking back at this highlight, I never realized just how dominant Tim Lincecum was this game. That three-run homerun must've felt like you were down 20 runs the way Lincecum was pitching that night.
@eurobeatking3 жыл бұрын
I still think Timmy should've gotten the MVP instead of Renteria that year for the way he pitched in Game 7. Hitting seems to get the glory (Panda got it in 2012 because he hit 3 homers in Game 1 against the Tigers) but thankfully MadBum got the MVP for his Game 7 dominance in 2014 against the Royals.

@@eurobeatking I don't think anyone would have argued with Timmy. That said, Renteria hit 2 home runs -- which both broke scoreless ties. I realize one of those was in a Game 2 blowout, but that game really wasn't a blowout until the eighth inning. Renteria's HR was in the fifth inning and it was 2-0 after 7. He also slashed at .412/.444/.765. Given that Timmy wasn't that sharp in Game 1, I think Renteria was the right choice.

Imagine being Pat Burrell before this game. Second to last season he ever played, and like the lineup intro said, playing for the team he loved growing up, and getting to win the World Series with them. What a send-off, even if he retired a year later.
@geg63152 жыл бұрын
Pat Burrell had some great moments in his career. His double in game 5 of the 2008 ws was the winning run for the team he was drafted number one overall by. Unfortunately he didn’t score the run himself cause he was so slow Charlie subbed him out immediately after

2010 was so special for me and my dad. I first got into baseball at 8 years old in 2010. Watching the NLCS and i asked my dad who i was supposed to root for. He told me to root for the good guys in orange and black. I watched game 6 with him and my grandpa and we celebrated together. Then i got to celebrate the WS game 5 just a week later and that started my love for Giants baseball. Such a special and core memory for me and my dad.

When Renteria hit that homer in the 7th I lost my goddamned mind. I was so pissed at Burrell for being legit trash the entire series, and with one swing I knew there was no way the Giants were losing this game.
@MiguelJimenez-uc3yz3 жыл бұрын
Sometimes you can have a good at bat and have nothing to show for it. Burrell had a pretty good at bat prior to that homerun. Sure he got out but he took a lot of pitches out of Cliff Lee. If remember correctly Lee was ahead in the count and Burrell battled and drew out an 6-8 pitch at bat. You could tell it took a bit out of Lee because he quickly fell behind to Edgar 2-0. That count leverage is was key for that homerun Plus Burrell's first at bat was a line shot that got caught as well.

@Patrise Alexander Nice. But Pat Burrell was also a bonafide slugger when he was in Philly On the Giants he was boom or bust. Sometimes a longball. Most times a strikeout. But he always seemed to have long at bats even when he struckout.
