Ive been using them for years now and love them. The height adjustment tubes need memory locks as well.

Absolutely love these stands! Got myself the 8710, 8707 and a 8713UA.

its not a "memory lock" is it, its just a secondary drum key tightened peg, with either infers you first clamp sucks, an i would have to tighten loosen everything twice, just make the first clamp good

Gibraltar has three different weights of tripod stands so you can still avoid heavy and still get stable; they are the 4600 light weight double braced, 5700 med weight double braced, and 6700 pro dbl braced stands. Thanks for your question and watching Brent's Hang

I have 3 of the flat based straight cymbal stands and the snare stand. They are light weight and don't take up much room. I want the hi-hat stand now.

I'm into these stands, I just wish the base footprint, particularly on the snare stand, was smaller.

Flat based stands are pretty stable for this kind of design but not quite as stable as a tripod base. We have lots of players that use our flat based stands and love the look, the fact that they are light in weight. Some even mount small toms off them with no issues. But if you're a hard hitter or mounting heavy toms off your cymbal stands, you're probably better off sticking to the tripod style stand.

At this moment, we do not offer a hardware pack that comes with the new hi hat stand version. We will be offering it this way in the future though.
@koolBOY832311 жыл бұрын
i count 4 stands. all of the left side fits on the stealth rack, and the right side could run the floor toms and ride cymbal with a stealth rack on the right. 2 stealth racks beat 4 stands every day. i'll say yes to all types of racks :)

I wouldnt exactly call those memory lock, its just a lock or I would say a safety lock. Very nice gears and affordable and solid.

Just got the flat base hardware and really dig them. However I have a question regarding the hi-hat stand. I play a Gretsch Catalina Jazz kit so I like to set the hi-hats low but I notice the lower the height of the stand, the less headroom I have for the pedal opening and closing the hi-hat (or none at all). Am I doing something wrong? I also have the hi-hat tension set low (so for it to be loose as possible). Perhaps a video answering this question?

I own a full set of the gibraltar stands and love them. Thinking about mounting my 13" tom to my cymbal stand. Would it be stable enough to do that, or should I keep it on the snare stand?
@GibraltarHardware8 жыл бұрын
+Keelan O'Hara Depends on the stand but it should fine. You want to make sure to have the legs in the best spot, etc. 👍
@KeelanOHara8 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I meant to say that it's the flat based stand that I'd be mounting the tom to. Think that would work?

So that second “memory lock” screw is really just for extra security. Meaning the primary lock (wing nut) isn’t reliable. To my knowledge the only brand on the market to feature (aka need!) this, erm, innovative design feature. 🤔
@drumtravelfun7 жыл бұрын
I wish the 'memory lock' screw wasn't in the same place as the main wing nut. Would be cool if it was on the next side other, not in each others way. Only thing that annoys me.

I have the boom, snare, and new 8707 hi-hat stand. Has anyone else used the 8707 hi-hat stand? I love the weight and direct feel, but I have two issues: even with the spring tension at max there's very little tension. I have 13" K hats and at a low tension there's not even enough spring to open, 14" would barely work, and the action is a little sticky like something is holding it back. Maybe it needs to break in and the action will get quicker, but the spring tension will never get firmer.

PRODUCT QUESTION! I'd love to buy that new 8707 hihat stand, but I'm seeing the only bundle currently available on amazon has last year's hihat stand with the double chain drive. Are there plans to make a bundle available on the market soon?
@GibraltarHardware5 жыл бұрын
Spencer Jessee thanks for the comment. The picture on Amazon is outdated. The hi hat stand in the picture hasn’t been produced in 4-5 years. As long as you are purchasing the 8700PK, and not the 8600PK, you are getting the current models

Notice in the video he doesn't tighten what he calls the "memory lock" at the bottom of the stand. That's because the location of it is right on top of the tightening wing...poor design. Also these stands are all heavier than my regular stands. If you're looking for small & lightweight, these are not for you. Finally, the, "impossible to remove factory stickers are at the bottom of the stand where the tripod cuff has to slide. The end result is: the stickers get scraped & gum up the adjustments. This is what happens when non-plyers manufacture things for those of us wo actually play.

8'8"- "the less you have"??!! The guy is literally sitting in a warehouse full of drums. Maybe he's a bit too tired to lug his double-braced hardware over to that corner?.. I mean, I appreciate the artistic aesthetic of playing a pared-down kit, and that sponsorship deals can be lucrative but FFS are we playing or are we selling? This faux shit tells me nothing that I couldn't have found during a visit to the manufacturer's website, and demeans the interviewee, the interviewer and the audience. No offence intended to anyone, except perhaps those who believe that Advertising Executives are advancing our evolution.
