I loved the red one at the single note soloing ! Very sweet and ...does not take you back to time ! I own an 1979 made L5 and I call her ...Hirosima .Great guitar but takes me back to time -which is not a bad thing finally ...

Hey Rich, I know everybody liked the old Byrdland but I was struck by that red 2014. Just my two cents! Great show, as usual.

Listening for a second time, i thought the red one sounds more like a lot of other archtops, the old one has its unique byrdland sound. I always wonderd, why Hank Garland started playing es 335 later on in his career, after inventing the byrdland!

As a jazzguitar for different jobs, the red one is probably more versatile. The old one is much more special, more byrdlandisch and funky.

The older birdland stays ,the newer one goes. BUT in the real world ,personally my own hands and ears would decide

To me Gibson guitars are too pricey or should I say to over priced for what they are
