I bought a Gibson 60's Cherry a couple of years ago. After playing it, I kicked myself for waiting so long to buy this guitar. I am an older dude and have been wanting a 335 for a long time. It is now my go to guitar. The tones are perfect. I have been thinking of installing a Bixby but am concerned about changing the tones so haven't done it yet. The guitar is perfect, and I don't want to fix what isn't broke! lol I recommend anyone who thinks they might like this guitar to just go ahead and get one. You will not be disappointed! You can play any style or genre with this beauty.

Check out the Les Trem by dusenburg! It’s like a bigsby but doesn’t require any invasive modification making it easily reversible! Might be worth a try to give you a feel of how a bigsby might be

'He's like me, he has children so we can't buy anything nice' ... I'm hearing you brother. So nice to hear someone else say it and about the very guitar I now can only dream of!

I was in the same boat till the kids grew up, then I went on an onslaught of toys… a hummingbird, a custom shop D28, a custom shop strat, 2 different LP juniors..(single and double cut…) saving now for the last guitar I will probably ever buy.. a ES 345

*sorry for my poor English. Very nice playing Sir & indeed, wonderful modern semi-hollow electric guitar by Gibson with lot of retro/vintage vibe too. The Gibson T-type PUs : brilliance biting & quite elegant sound with "60s R & B mojo". Thank you very much indeed, Sir.

I got one earlier in the year. It’s definitely a bucket list guitar and a super bang for the buck

I was offered a sweet deal on a new Gibson 335 Dot today at a local music store. Didn't expect to walk in and buy a guitar so taking the night to think about it - and watch videos. That Clapton woman tone is incredible... I play a lot of blues rock so seems like this guitar is right up my alley. I've always thought it is a beautiful looking piece! I had the Epiphone Dot in the past briefly and thought it was cool, this is another animal.

I love my 2021 Gibson ES 335 Figured 60's guitar. The quality is back at Gibson.

@drsrsv8884 I love the guitar still. But the headstock design where the D and G Strings pulling sideways and not straight is always a little issue with staying in tune.

Great demo video! Finally got one last year and love it. The Calibrated T-Type pickups are really sweet. BTW, nice playing too!

Nice video, you go straight to the point. I'll start saving for one of these, sounds pretty good.

About six months ago, I bought from Andertons Music Co. Gibson SG Standard Limited Edition in shell pink with the same T-Type pickups. It looks and most importantly sounds fantastic! I only replaced the tuners with Gotoh SD90-MGT Vintage Style locking tuning keys. Greetings from Poland... 🤘

@@BITESIZEJONES I did. I can't stop playing it. I play it at night. I dream about playing it. I wake up, meditate, drink water, stretch, and play it. Then I think about playing it all day long. I think I may need counseling. lol

tone is subjective thing many modern player will regard vintage gibson tone as"too hollow and have no power" but that's what makes it vintage guitar as vintage guitar and makes them expanssive in that regards this new 335 is tooooo mcu h modernish even more than the previous memphis dot reissue series also while they are making the guitar look more like a 60's original i don't know why they choose to change the sound closer to modern maybe it's a new T-type pick up that makes it sound like such

How do these t types PU compare to the old MHS (or other gibson PU like bustbukers)? thx
@blueshurler2 жыл бұрын
I prefer the MHS or burst buckers. Creamier smoother sound that really suits es guitars to my ear. Not a fan of the t-types.
@BITESIZEJONES2 жыл бұрын
@@blueshurler I own several historics and I also own this one. I guess to each his own. I can say these T-style pups sound great. Nothing to dislike here. The guy in this video didn't even turn any of the tone knobs for more clean jazz and blues tone options.

I wanted to say that Filmore is the first amp voiced for a es335 in nearly 50 years, but the amp is more or less a clone of a '60s blackface fender super reverb or pro. Nothing new about that. So, nope, nobody has voiced an amp for an es335 since Howard Dumble built one (#102) for Robbon Ford. If you like es335s, just remember the boutique amp movement including at least one major modeling box (with tons of modeled amps) hates es335s. (I don't know why). And despite all the classic 1960s Fenders originally voiced by Leo to include Gibson es335s (the competition's guitars), the modern modeled version of them does not like es335s. There should be some discrimination laws against that. If I could call the police, Ghostbusters or the IRS on them I would.
