@Daddy537512 жыл бұрын
@@edwinstovall3334 you might be amazed by the sound of cheap pickups if you change the magnets (I like neodymium magnets off eBay) and wax pot them. Whenever I build I don’t even consider expensive “name brand” pickups anymore.

What happened to the original neck after you took it off? Is it still usable or the break made it impossible to fixt?
@L.A.of-The-family-Jones2 жыл бұрын
I have it still, for a model, not usable, no head
@leobender29102 жыл бұрын
@@L.A.of-The-family-Jones ok, thanks. How safe is it heat the upper part of the neck directly with an iron? It looked a bit burned at the end. I'm trying to figure out a way to heat a neck safely, to reuse it later. Your method looks simple but a bit radical to me or was it not that bad as I imagine it was?
@L.A.of-The-family-Jones2 жыл бұрын
@@leobender2910 I used a travel iron on full. I think 200 F is the upper limit to heat a finger board. NOT for lacquer!!

@Vito Spatafiore pretty sure 1990s Epiphone Les Paul's used coffee can lid, lol.
@freepressright2 жыл бұрын
@Vito Spatafiore I just broke tradition and bought the 1959 Epi Reissue LP. Amazing guitar in every manner of speaking. The dynamics on the volume roll are as good as any Gibby I've ever owned. It has CTS pots, Mallory caps and a switchcraft switch. Insanely good. If you're doing Blues and only moderately overdriven stuff with that Sheraton, those pups are fine. They're not wax potted so they do not take well to higher gain levels without feedback and becoming microphonic. Rock on brother.
@freepressright2 жыл бұрын
@Vito Spatafiore I play a PRS predominantly, which makes it hard to love anything else. This Paul really has my attention. I played it at rehearsal yesterday and had a great time with it. Epiphone really has its shit together now.
