I don't want to make excuses for myself but I am envious of players who are big, tall and have big strong fingers. I'm 65 and I only started playing two and a half years ago. It's impossible to compete with people who started at 10 or 15 years old. Some guys are so big and strong they make the guitar look like a toy. My hands are not that big and strong but then again, I think of Prince. He was excellent and was not large in stature. No whining. I'm grateful to be playing.

Fantastic demonstration. About a year-and-a-half ago I bought a 59 Les Paul reissue Heavy Aged Murphy lemon green fade. Those guitars are made to feel, look and sound exactly like the original. Hats off to the staff at Norm's and all the wonderful work they do for homeless people. God love and God bless you. 🙏🕊️❤️ What's so cool about this one is it's a sunburst

That’s lovely. I notice it wasn’t Tele-like particularly on the bridge like some are. So much variation in sounds from these and there is definitely a range within the range to suit everyone. This one sounded very Richie Sambora to me (am I being crazy here?). I’m now gonna have to dig out my R8 and have a play. Excellent. Thanks.

What pedal is it going through? These guitars are great and well worth the price especially considering an entry level professional violin is at least 75,000 if not 100,000. Us guitar players are fortunate.

My question is, does he ALREADY know all of these songs? Or is he able to just learn a few riffs before each show? As I get older, I find my biggest problem isn't TECHNICALLY playing the parts, it's REMEMBERING which riff comes next, and exactly how it goes... So as I get better at playing, I get worse at recalling the next chord or scale! lol
@Scrappym4

He studied at Berkeley college of music and practices a lot. I’m sure he bases these riffs off of other songs from time to time. One riff from this video was a Led Zeppelin song he changed a bit. He’s really an insanely good player

I'd rather buy a VOS custom shop and have er age as she's played. No need to over pay for patina when that can just come naturally. Better bonds form relicing guitars while playing anyway
@looking_33
@looking_33 6 ай бұрын
the modern custom shop lacquer doesn't seem to age much. i've read the reason the murphy lab doesn't sell non aged guitars is because the lacquer they use checks too quickly, they would recieve an enormous amount of warranty claims. The ultra light aged seems to be them just letting it check before sending it out

Hand painted as in he held the spray gun in his hand and painted the guitar just like every other guitar gets painted or is Gibson trying to dupe people into believing Tom painted the guitar with a brush? Hand painted just means it was painted using a paint gun which is the industry standard. Will the Tom paint Job make the Custombuckers sound more like real PAFs ? I do happen to like Custombuckers but this are a bit different sounding from vintage Pups .

Or you could have a nice les paul. I have no interest in chimps or space. My autism is very singularly focused on the guitar. Id rather live in a cabin in the woods with a nice guitar than live in a huge house with an epiphone. Thats my priorities in life i guess

Tom Murphy painted is just another scheme to add more unjustifiable mark up . Why should Tom Murphy painted be worth anymore consideration than a Guitar painted by Gibson painter X Y or Z from the evening shift ? Obviously they are all good painters or they would not be there. Tom Muphy painted won't make it play or sound better and probably won't even look better .. It's not as if his Paint Jobs have telltale features where you look at them and go yep definitely painted by Tom Murphy . What's next adding markup to the guitar because a certain person set the neck ? Monetizing the name of the person who painted the guitar.
