Recently purchased a bigger proper hollow body electric (Gretsch) and discovered how wonderful it sounds through a lightly overdriven tube amp into a good 4x12" speaker cabinet. The trick is the depth of the guitar's body which provides the acoustic signal to be enhanced by digging in as well as allowing great sustain.Rock on!

I love mine (a '77 model with a single floating Gibson BJB pickup). I'm tall and lanky (6'2"), so it fits me. I play it through a Polytone Mini Brute II from the mid 80s. Your playing is beautiful.

Most amazing jazz guitar I ever payed hands on was a Johnny Smith model. Amazing neck, and fingerboard, and not huge. Ever play one of those?

Hi Dixon, You are definitely in the same league as Jack Wilkins so please do not take my other comment about your playing as negative as I did not mean to criticize you. As I had Jack visiting me every time for one week in Montréal three or four times and I spent half a dozen stays at Jack's flat in Manhattan playing and learning with him I know that you two are at the same level. I am listening to all your vidéos and I get much info and help from it. Still I would like to listen you playing some other blues as I am sure you play them well. Keep posting those videos and if you allow me I will keep on having pleasure listening to them and learning things from them.I also think of Barney Kessel, as I played in France in 1980 with him and he called me on the phone a couple of weeks before he died. It was heartbreaking as he expressed himself with difficulty but very clearly as he was also a great mind, and a friend. It is ironic that both Barney and I had a stroke but by luck I recovered well from it since 2013 but I do not know why but my playing improved ! Go figure ! Mystery of the jazz God who helps us. Best. JP

Wow. This reply blows me away and I don't know what to say! It sounds as though you have had an amazing life and played with some real heavies. I need a dose of humility also with my replies (in youtube you never know who you are talking to!) so if I showed disrespect I apologize. All the best Zobi!

Wow! Sounds great! What Amp are you running this through? Cheers!

i think i wasn't using an amp - just DI into logic and using a reverb... But you can tell the mic was really giving it a live edge - you can hear the acoustic sound of the gtr which I really wanted!

I love mine, no doubt, I'm 6'4'' so I fit it, and it does take you to another level when you play with it.
