If I had the cash I would definitely buy one of those Charlie Starr Juniors. A Gibson Les Paul Jr. with a single P90 is my favorite models ever made. Having met Charlie before I can say that there is no one more deserving of a signature model. He’s a very friendly and down to earth guy and an absolute beast on guitar.

Charlie Starr is another step along the path of righteous guitar playing. So many to name and such a long lineage. Charlie is authentic and well deserved for a signature guitar. Sadly of the hundreds of guitars I have owned over the years...I have bought one brand new Gibson...a Les Paul Special with an Ebony board...TV Yellow..nitro finish....$699 closeout...one of my best playing guitars.. No chance of buying a brand new Gibson....way too expensive. Most of the pros, have guitars in the same way Charlie got his..bought them on deals used. Once Gibson hands them over to make players think you need a $5K Les Paul. They are way off base. Doctors and Laywers that dabble in guitar will keep Gibson afloat. Players don't buy their new guitars.

Charlie plays a lot more complicated parts then he claims. Watch him play and he's doing it all..............palm muting, open strings, picked notes, percussive with the fretting hand, hybrid picking. The dude is fantastic.

I got lucky and found these guys at the Star Bar in Atlanta back in 2009. Watched Charlie play that Jr a lot in the early days. IMO it is still one of best sounding guitars in his collection. A great choice for his signature series and well deserved for this riff master.

Charlie is a fantastic guitar player (& great guy!) at last getting his well deserved signature model! I bought a junior yesterday and can honestly say that Charlie was my main motivation & inspiration for doing so, I also “needed” a P90 guitar and the simplicity of the junior appealed to me and as I live mainly on the bridge pickup, the single P90 was ideal!👍👏👏🎶🎶

Too Funny in Charlie talking about moving picking hand back and forth as with actually using controls. In the late 60s , my father would bump me in the arms while learning guitar... He always say ((relax, move the playing hand around, stop smashing strings in the fretboard, use the control s)) !!! Yes, what a pain he was, but he taught me to be a better productive player !!! 😊

The LPJ Atlanta story is reminiscent of how I got my Suhr Classic T. I wasn’t looking for a guitar, didn’t need a guitar, but a used Tele-looking guitar was hanging on the wall at Sam Ash. I tell people that when I touched it, it was like Harry Potter getting the right wand. I never even plugged it in…I just knew I had to have it. The guitar was spotless, not even a mark on the pickguard, so I figured it was new, but found out from Suhr it was 16 years old. Ihave no idea where it had been for 16 years…apparently waiting for me.

The first time I became aware of blackberry smoke was 5 1/2 years ago. I Instantly Dug their Southern rock blues country style, plus they play some killer southern rock covers. The whole band is solid but Charlie’s playing and singing really stand out. One of my favorite bands today. Does anybody know When is Gibson going to release this Charlie star signature Les Paul juniors? what is the MSRP?

im a firm believer in the P90 my 05 limited run SG Jr large guard 60s reissue is an absolute beast ,, ive heard other P90s but something about that run is just different , its about as close to the original 50s pups as ive heard ,, probably the only reason i haven't bought a real 50s Jr to put in the collection ,, lord have mercy
