For me, his story makes sense of the Gideon Holy pocket Bible with the very helpful guides i consider a blessing to have encountered and have made use of. Pages and verses that is very helful depending on situations. I remember on early school years our class would be given and as time passed by have seen and saved many few which end up as garbage. Gideon is an inspiration i would never be half a man but will forever till death be grateful to have known him and have my own Gideon Holy Pocket Bible.

This is such a good lesson for all of us in the midst of assaults on our Catholic Church. God sees us for who we are. He sees our potential. We all need to fight against the evils that are devouring our church. A lot of us are Gideons.

I went into deep waters and every breath felt like my last. I stop drinking beer 3 times or 4 a day. The Holy Spirit is real and he delivered me from all my troubles.

Interesting how you make it seem like the Israelites were innocent against he Midian. Did you not read Judges 6:1 which reads, "[T]he Israelites offended the Lord, who therefore delivered them in the the power of Midian for seven years."? Sounds like the Israelites screwed up and God punished them. Did you also forget how overly violent Gideon was such as when he took elderly people and grounded them in the desert with thorns and briers? (Judges 8:16). Or when he ordered his son, a boy at the time, to kill two men? (Judges 8:20). Tell the whole story!

Autumn V start reading in The Holy Bible the book of Judges starting in chapter 5 and read through the chapters about Gideon. It’s so amazing! God spoke to him in amazing ways and chose him as his mighty warrior!!

Many false prophets have taught that God will bless evil. No, He will not. When Israel went into sin, God punished them. Gideon couldn't understand why evil had befallen Israel. Judges 6:13, “And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.”

What Gideon didn't realize, because he couldn't see the forest for the trees, was that Israel has done evil in the sight of the Lord. Judges 6:1, “And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years.”

If that evil the Israelites did were the whole truth of the story, then God would not have been with Gideon or the 300 warriors to bring a great deliverance for the nation of Israel. Thankfully for us imperfect people in a fallen world, God is more a God of mercy than He is of judgement.
