Mine just came in and I want to say- this thing is amazing. Stu and co really knocked this one out of the park, my first Reiff and exactly what I wanted and needed in a fixed blade. I cannot wait to use this for years, knowing that it will hold up to whatever I throw at it and if not, they will take care of me. If you looked at this knife and scoffed at the price, I understand that a knife of this price may not be for everyone but MAN is the quality and package amazing. You’re also supporting an American company and other American companies they worked with on this package. Kudos to Reiff on this one, it’s a keeper.

Architect AK3 is about $160 for 62hrc magnacut, great usa made kydex or leather sheath, and lifetime warranty. They say if you break it at any time, they'll replace for free. I've personally had great experience with their customer service; the owner Ethan Stoops usually will handle it personally. And it's White River making the blades, and you can order the blade only for $86 and make your own handle or sheath. It's pretty crazy no one is talking about the AK3 in the EDC fixie craze, it's maybe the highest value US made fixed blade.

61- 63 is Benchmades hrc and Spyderco's, Artisan is using 63hrc & Tactile us using 63-64hrc. Steve Callari Customs is doing 64hrc on magnacut. Don't waste your money if it isn't 62 & up in hrc for magnacut you are buying S30v. Remember also if the blade is DLC it's going to have a lower HRC due to having to reheat it for the DLC.
@griff77493 ай бұрын
60-61 hrc magnacut is still a lot tougher than s30v and more stainless. Especially for a fixed blade, that extreme toughness would be nice, as well as stainlessness. Also, toughness goes way down at 64 and up according to Larrin. So it's all about what you want, and if a little extra wear resistance is worth the drop in toughness. I agree 62-63 is probably best for smaller knives, but it's not that deep
@randallbeauchamp82453 ай бұрын
Those look awesome! I like the wider blade.
@eyeofthetiger41843 ай бұрын
G'day Aaron, nice one and certainly cant complain about the warranty. I like both handle, and blade, styles .... depends what you predominately want to do with it. Main thing for me is to have at least 4 in. of "usable" grip even with only a 3-4 in. blade. (and girthier the better, mind you, for a carver I dont care quite so much). Also, whilst I am EDC-ing small fixies a lot more, can't say I'm a fan of in, (or on), pocket carry, that remains the realm of the folder IMO. ....... i.e. a pocket knife ; ) Cheers Duke. P.S. I note in the comments, price is a big deal, ..and yes it is, this one is out of my zone too. However, if that is the case, I'd suggest, without gett'n all bitter and twisted, simply look at it design/concept wise and appreciate it, or not, on that basis alone and move on. Aaron looks at many, many right across the price spectrum.
