My granddad used to tell me about his time in giebelstadt in wwii with the army Air corps. I can't remember how long but I seem to recall it was only a week or something and he said it snowed the entire time and was bitterly cold with very little sunlight. It was his first encounter with more than a inch of snow at most and besides his leather bomber jacket they didn't have sufficient clothing and nearly froze to death working on the b17s.

I was stationed there with 252 Signal 89-91. Loved it!

I was stationed here from 2001 until 2004. I was in HHC 5-158TH AVN REGT UNDER 12th avn brigade. I was pol worked in the motor pool at the front of the base. Wow how much it has changed and how sad it looks with out all the soldiers there. Great memories miss it dearly.

And where are you now? I was there at the same time but as a Delivery Guy only. Remember the time it wasn't necessary to gateguard This areas. Love ❤️ from Germany 🙋🏻‍♂️

74-77 C battery 6/52. A lot of the old timers were just back from the Nam. In 77 we got to field test the first Patriot system in country.

I was stationed from the end of 85 thru oct 87 Blackhawk unit Sgt. Torres was platoon leader I was a specialist crew chief . I loved the nco club, and bowling alley ..lol and coming from Los Angeles , I froze my butt of during guard duty out in those freezing winter nights on that airfield.. The hangers were a nice warm up spot.. Lol Loved the town..

63 TAMC, later I Co, 3rd Ave Regt, 1986 to 88. Snake doctor. Great memories. SFC Mitchell, SFC Rosario, SGT Blood and 1SG White. Great leaders for a young a young Private.

Was 2003 to 2005 for me 12th AVN Brigade HCC left right before they shut it down. Red Baron club was nice and bowling alley. Was a lifeguard at the schwimbad right across street from bowling alley one summer. I loved it there miss it

I loved the two years that I was stationed on Giebelstadt Army Airfield! I was stationed there March 1995 to March 1997 with C co 7/158 AVN. I worked in the only dining facility on the base!
