And later that same year, on New Year's Eve, kids be asking, where's Grandma's? Oh, she's still wrapping a Christmas present with a tree on it! Lovely presentation, but it would take FOREVER to do! Thank you for sharing though! Just a side note, my Grandma always taught me that the presentation of the gift is part of the gift, so I am a proponent of beautifully wrapped gifts!
@Wendy-cj5yz3 жыл бұрын
I am sorry but after watching some of your videos, and admired how beautiful your gift wrapping is, I would be distraught if anyone thought they had the right to open ‘their present’. In fact, the gift wrapping would be the present & they would have to ‘Ooo’ and ‘aaaa’ a lot. Spectacular 😇

The beauty of such a gorgeously wrapped gift is that what’s inside doesn’t need to be anything expensive, just thoughtful. The wrapping is just as much part of the gift. 🥰❤️❤️❤️

I've ended up here because that was what my partner said, its more about how the gift is wrapped says more than what the gift is. This is how things applied to Christmas. When it came to Birthdays, well, it wasn't acceptable to go out on the day, or even the day before, and buy a card. It had to be done in advance, I guess to show you'd been thinking of this up coming event. Because of this, and I learned over time, the cards she liked were always the ones I least liked, I'd look for cards throughout the year because it was true, the good ones were never around when you needed them, and I ended up with atleast four nice cards in reserve which I kept in a box out the way. Well one year I found myself out in the Caribbean without her, and it was her birthday. So I told her where the cards were, and she could choose one and address it to herself on my behalf and therefore contrary to her bite, I hadn't forgotten her birthday at all. This didn't go down at all well. I ended up making quite a mammoth effort to choose themes, colour combinations and textures for each year at Christmas in wrapping her presents, and now they were always received with shock and disbelief, and usually would be left until late in the day to open, because she now couldn't bring herself to open them and wreck all wrapping. I've still got photo's of them all. I only hope she gets the same care and attention from her new partner and I wonder if this issue washes through her memories each Christmas day if not. The experience of meeting her needs has left an indelible interest in wrapping things that sadly I've no partner as yet to gift. Unwittingly, this is a lasting gift she left with me.

@@alexwild4350 that is horribly sad. I could only wish my husband of 50 years had ever been like you. I feel your wife was very selfish. My hubby is a good man, just not at all sentimental. She should have thought more about you, and less about herself. I hope you find a new special person, if you need to, and just be happy knowing that you are the one who is special.

I had to by and tell you, I’ve made close to 30 of these marvelous trees, using gel prints. They are then glued behind village houses by Tim Holtz. They are so adorable. I’m giving each individual house/tree to my neighbors and family…, and a few for hubby and me to display. Thanks again. These trees are so fun to make.

Very beautiful and unique. I used to love watching professional gift wrapping at the big department stores when I was a kid. I especially liked when they took the edge of the scissors to crimp the big bows. They did it so fast!

Me, too! Saks and Lord and Taylors in Manhattan actually had wrapping departments! They and my mom taught me how to wrap and make the beautiful bows. It was crucial to never let the tape show.

If I put that much effort into wrapping each gift, they would only get one each... I'm more of the type that makes gift boxes, that store like nesting dolls... after wrapping my mother-in-law 12 days of Xmas from my father-in-law and the gifts to everyone but me for years... I would ring the Christmas bell of anyone ripping up the wrapping... lol. But I love the look and I can see it could store well. So, thank you very much for sharing.

Realize this may be stupid question...but white markings are just to EXPRESS where to fold and where to cut correct? This was brilliant and insanely rewarding to watch. The ripped edge is mind blowing to me. I have always focused on precise folds, and watching as the organic raw ripped not perfect edge elevates and compliments the crisp folds is mind blowing. THANK YOU!
