Better than meeting Slug in line for a show and I've got a picture of that) and like.. idk, even yesterday I was talking to a really like SUPER into old music head in the industry who's brilliant, happens to be white and had to be like 'you know this is black art right? Like Jimi Hendrix? He's FROM here. Rock is FROM here. All that main stream co-opting of this honestly miraculous use of experience as a form of expression is BLACK art in America. I mean, like damn. I would not have to write nothing nearly as long if I wasn't FROM Seattle but like.. who in the doesn't know who Blue Scholars or Common or SIR MIX-A-LOT {wtf?} doesn't understand that black artists here are not JUST suppressed but actively and criminally discriminated against because this is a place of enlightenment and the enlightened black experience is not as fun to 'listen' to or 'watch' for local and regional audiences that have a more 'white' side of local public opinion on art.
