Would be interested to know what research was done to support the video content and what the methodology was. This feels more like pop science.

I feel like I at some points have fit into all of said categories, but the autonomous learner. Throughout my entire schooling, I would never do any homework besides mandatory assignments. I picked a small handful of subjects wherein I would figure out how to give my teachers what they wanted and did not bother doing anything besides showing up to class, and trying to appear more knowledgeable than I was, in the withstanding subjects. Despite being autistic I succeeded at doing these and ended up with a B GPA. I do find it regretful, however, that no one cared to put me in any kind of special education or realized I was autistic. I did my cousin's fifth grade math homework in kindergarten, and due to my parents', my own, and my teachers' lack of care for my schooling, I completely missed out on actually getting an education

My son is the Challenging Divergent thinker, and I am suspecting 2e according to the description on this video. It is so hard to deal with the school system and people and teachers who can't see it. He has an IQ above 145 and I have been told just to let Primary school and High school pass, as the real learning for them will start at University. He will be starting y6 and my heart aches as the repetition will frustrate him again. It is unfair.

In primary school I was told things would get better in high school, in high school I was told things would get better in university, in university I was told things would get better in upper years. Things never got better. Deep-seated frustration in the face of utter powerlessness eventually consumed me whole. "Waiting it out" tore me apart.

Is there a cure for the challenging type? They are constantly in trouble because they can’t stand injustice.

I am a mixture of all of these, for example…when I was about four or five I could easily spell my name out with letter box but after the first two times I pretended to not be able to do it like the other kids, example two…I dropped out of school in year four and am now home schooled (for all u gifted out there u should realy try homeschooling it changed my life) because the education system well didn’t realy work out for me and my younger brother I realy struggled to make friends at school since most kids my age…I’ll just say had a different understanding of being a friend then me, there are lots of kids out there just like me who have been put down because others thought that they had a mental issue like my mom did with me. You never realy understand what it’s like to be gifted unless you are, we have a lot more wires in our brains then others. And by the way I’m only 11 and I have finished the English coriculam (idk how to spell) and you can think that I’m bragging but there will be at least one more person like me, going through what I went through so to all the schools out there that have “special gifted teachers” you only know a hundredth of what being gifted actually is. Thank you, by anonymous

I feel like i was Twice Exceptional when i was little*, and Divergently Gifted in undergrad/grad school :/ *My handwriting was terrible, i was really bad at math, and only "exceptional" in science. Now i have a Master of Science degree in engineering, but decided not to pursue a PhD. Rather, learn about microbiology online :)

I’m in almost the same situation except I was never twice exceptional and am only 14. (Although I might just be overestimating my giftedness or whatever) do you have any tips on what I should do to get into a science field?
@HyunAYuchi
@HyunAYuchi 4 жыл бұрын
@@happykindaguy1861 Well, first study tips on How to Learn, to make your learning methods more efficient. Then, pick a Science Course based on the kind of job/business that you want to do early in your career. The kind of job/business that you like to do, earns a decent pay, and the kind of people/customers you want to work with. There are videos on youtube that describes what each course does in the field, watch those. And if you take, say Mechanical engineering, and early on you find that personally, it isn't the course for you, then shift to another field quickly. Don't be afraid to fail. It's better to fail now than realize years down the road that you chose the wrong field, or don't like the people you're working with, or the customers you're serving. Find your purpose and what you stand for, and keep updating that. That will be your compass so you don't get lost in all the math and useless details that you're never going to use in real life :) Hope that helps ^_^

You can’t really stop being twice exceptional. If you’re 2e it means you are gifted but also have some kind of disability, usually adhd or autism. It stays with you forever. That being said, your 2e-ness can and often times does hide itself, and can just look like either disability or giftedness, when it’s actually both.
