My grandmother definitely lets it be known I am her favorite. I was the first born grandchild and she raised me. She was the same way with my first born. Now that I am a GiGi, I completely understand the grandparents/grandchild relationship. It’s even more on me because my grandbabies live out of state.

My family is not big on gifts. We do buy each other gifts but it's more of a tell me what you want and I'll get it. I would say my memorable Christmas was when my sisters and I were really young and woke up to a whole bunch of gifts to unwrap. We were so excited and it wasn't anything big or expensive but we were just happy. And my mom was sitting there crying watching us. We thought she was sad and tried to give her something to unwrap, but once i was older i understood the tears and done my best to make sure she knows we appreciate her and everything she did to raise us.

These last two months has been so rough for me. Unfortunately I wasn't able to go see my mom and family this year. I been having so much trouble with my car. I am more of a giver then a receiver but on yesterday I saw a friend of mine in Kroger's and haven't seen him in years. We hugged so long and so tight I started to cry. That was my best gift and it didn't cost a thang. Happy New Year 2025

grandparents definitely are different these days. back in the day my mom would say im not going all these different places for food meanwhile my nephew wants fries from one place and pizza from another place. he had to have be at least 10 she was still cutting up his food for him like come on now this child can do it himself.
