Rewatching this episode absolutely cooked me, I did this exact thing over the weekend. went on Tinder after a long time being by myself, got way more matches than I was expecting, got carried away and ended up fumbling it with the only one I actually wanted to talk to LOL. this sucks! I do wish we got to see a little more of Emi, but I like that she's kinda become someone who isn't really part of Shigeo's social group or hangs out with him, but is still just openly friendly and supportive with him now, even if what she said was kinda the catalyst to Shigeo getting carried away.

Hanazawa going along with him getting carried away is no surprise. His level of admiration for Shigeo probably reaches the level of a flat out crush on him. (There's some hints Teru is bi in the manga like an omake manga chapter where he tries to prod Shigeo on if he has a thing for any of the other body improvement club members.)
