Hello, norms only player here! I've always really liked Ryze's design, and I'd like to think I got half decent when it comes to the laning phase part of his game, but I've always struggled after around 14 minutes. What is the objective/goal of Ryze? How can Ryze best benefit the team? For example, a champ like Orianna's pretty easy to understand for me - In a teamfight I shoot my ball in the enemy's general direction and harass without putting myself in danger. But when it comes to Ryze I found it really difficult to do anything (other than just toss Qs) without putting myself at risk, if the enemy does engage it feels like "I probably would be able to do more in this situation if I wasn't playing Ryze." If I choose not to group, I've learned the hard way that there's really just no beating bruisers while splitpushing, so despite his good waveclear I can't manage to make use of that. So I guess I'm asking "what should I do to best utilize Ryze"?

After 14 mins you go to side lanes if the side tower is gone and you farm everything. You wait for the wave to come in if its a champ that can kill you and you can push up if they have no cc then you just r away. Looking to group with your team with your teleport or R if a fight starts or sticking near them if they have heavy engage champs.

If it’s truly locked yes it’s gonna make the game hard for no reason. You can just do what I’m doing and bind it to the space bar and hold and release when needed.
