You absolutely do not need to remove 70% of those screws unless you want to get to the "thermal cartridge". Otherwise just unscrew the bottom and the interface bracket and it comes off as one piece. But this is a better way if you want to just re-paste the core and clean the cooler without having to deal with all the thermal pads.

i gave you a like cuz i love your thermal paste, thanks for the video, i tried horizon forbidden west earlier this week and instant 80-85c, its definitely time to get that paste changed! good to know i can get away with taking out less screws than you, your wisdom of iterative learning is appreciated.

my 1080ti runs at 85-87c on warzone so i used a air compress gun in my pc and it now on 50-65c while gaming .. but if you had your card for a long time i think changing the paste on top would help alot

@@omonkkonen6676 Doing this now on a 1080ti I just picked up. The quality of this card is awesome. Easily the best card I’ve ever torn down. I would go a step further and remove the shroud over the fan and clean that up as well. I noticed my temps in helldivers 2 were 74 degrees before tear down and that was just standing in the spaceship walking around. I’ll follow-up and let you know what the temp dropped too, but they will drop and even if you don’t test temps before hand it’s good to do this either way as the paste is dry and alot of dust will be covering the fan and Heatsink.
