The XL hunger strikes are awesome! Definitely never underestimate the size of lure/bait a lake trout will hit. I've caught 14" lakers on those XL hunger strikes.

so true most the time but some bodies of water they wont touch a big bait. lake Ontario ive fished big baits so much and got nothing but you can slam a tiny cleo around and get 10+ fish days.. not small either. im assuming its matching whatever they are eating, i think they're cued into alewifes

@@thegreatpotatokitty8196 yeah, you're probably spot on there. Seems like further east you go, the smaller baits they want. Here in lake superior, the superior/Quético region, Northwest Ontario and so on, they definitely will hit big stuff. Kinda nice though, because they'll also take small baits. Can't tell ya the number of 30"+ Lakers I've had spitting up 3" perch minnows.
