I think the process of layering is what helps make the muscles not look too chunky or out of place. I think its mandatory for sculptures to starts from bones to muscles then skins. But because this isnt based on real human she can just built the muscles first then layer on the clothes so that it doesnt look fake? I dont know how to describe it, but the fabric are easier to tell where the wrinkles are with the muscles in place.
