Mantis are not deadly or even venomous 😂 I've picked up many mantis, none of which have even tried to bite me. They usually just calmly sit my hand or walk around on me. If a mantis was to bite you, you'd just feel a little pinch. Now a walking stick can spit a type of venom on you, and it would burn if it got in your eyes, but I've picked up many walking sticks, and none of them ever spit at me. The mantis is completely harmless, and the walking stick basically is too, just don't let one spit in your eyes.

I have a few wild ones as pets myself, I completely agree. They can bite but it’s extremely easy to avoid and won’t unless you make your hand seem like wiggly prey.

@@sociallyineptsnapper They make really good pets. I've kept a few as a pet before. One of them was a freaking giant lol. So I fixed him up a nice little forrest in my aquarium. I've picked up lots of mantis, and never been bit by one. There bites don't have enough power to hurt people, so idk why some people are scared of them 🤦‍♂️

@@1776AR Sorry, didn’t get the notifications. Same here. I currently Have three females and one male, all Chinese praying mantises and full grown so pretty big. Used to have one more but sadly she passed away right after laying her eggs, all of these have laid there eggs and are still healthy and kicking. Guess I learned from my mistakes. I have a few separate terrariums, I don’t have enough for each of them but I’m comfortable to keep them out in the house sometimes since I don’t have cats or dogs dogs they don’t wander much. Just not the male, he flies. My most aggressive one, Sugar, goes after my fingers a lot, and it hurts but not very much at all. Simply just hold there heads away by their thorax and lightly press on their forearms and they release, then they leave you alone. Some people are just very stupid, to be blunt.
