As someone who works for a fast food chain, it's quite common for people to ask for burgers without a bun or fries without salt. People think doing that makes our jobs harder, but it just requires us to press a button and do less steps to make their order.
@zealousideal2 жыл бұрын
I never really thought of it as any harder. Sounds easier to me. Less steps. The only thing about asking no salt for fries which is usually what I do (Bcz fast food chains put WAYYYY too much) is you will have to wait longer or pull to the side Bcz they have to make a fresh batch just for you. The good thing is you always get fresh hot fries.

Once when I was at McDonald’s I waited like 40 minutes for my order because they forgot about me. I eventually asked an employee “Hey, is my order coming soon?” And they had forgotten about my order. The employee gave me an extra medium chips. Nicest employee I’ve ever met.
@iroh64642 жыл бұрын
As someone frequents the same chain location. One time I was shufling throught to make sure that my order was correct and they forgot my 2 extra maple sauces for my small combo hotcakes while also waiting for my soda. And I request that they give me the maple sauce, and I think I had said it to the manager as he had the dark gray outfit on. He simply said, "cool". Marched off came back and gave me my who sauces. Coincidentally another server handed me my soda while the guy was coming back with a large soda. Dude handed everything to the counter and said "sorry about that, have a nice day" and marched back to work. So I basically got a kind Fairwell and a free large coke. Still go there till this day as it's good customer service and I occasionally find that my burger is stake loaded more than everyone else around the table. Which is nice of them. As a former mcdonald's employee, mind telling me what the training expected wait time is? At freddy's a red ticket is 8 minutes, and taco bell was like 5 minutes. I can't imagine mcdonalds being fine with a 25 minute wait (assuming no very apparent reasons why that would be the case, 1-2 line cooks, ran out of ingredients and doing a store run, etc.) And you should also know, that pretty much all fast food joints aren't going to argue with the customer for that, because training says it should've been done way before that. Everywhere I worked for fast food had no issues giving a comp card or discount for a 15+ minute wait, let alone 20-25+

@@death2foolz182 as someone who's worked for both McDonald's and Taco bell, the amount of training is night and day. At McDonald's I was never told how long someone should be waiting. Soda in ice cream isn't a new thing. If you grew up poor in the south as a treat a lot of people would have what was called a root beer float. You pour root beer (probably the cheapest soda known to man) over vanilla cream (if your gonna do it right everyone goes in together to get a huge ass plastic pale of it cheap) in a glass it makes a sweet slurry of goodness.

In Australia and New Zealand any soda and ice cream combination is called a “spider” it’s actually pretty tasty. Whilst the idea of dairy and soda seams like a bad idea, the cream from the ice cream adds a new texture to the drink. It’s a little sweet but it’s really smooth. The ice cream gets foamy at the top adding a little badazzle to the drink. I encourage you to try “spiders”, if you don’t like it that’s fine

I was a shift manager at a Wendy's back in 1994. Yes, in a lot of places the inside can hear what is being said in the vehicle after the order is placed. Trolling drive thrus is incredibly pathetic, especially if it is busy like on a Friday, or Saturday. On top of that it holds ZERO humor for the cashier who has heard this just short of a bazillion times. If I was on a short shift when the cashiers took their breaks I took over the register until they came back. Out of all the times I had heard this I noticed they would most always order a Whopper, and a large fry. Seldom even ordered a drink. That was usually because once they got their laugh they would drive off. One night I was short shift so I came prepared. I brought with me a box Whoppers malt ball candy. Before taking over drive thru I picked out the five largest french fries I could find in the fry bin. So comes the first car of jokers. It was three high school boys. The driver order the typical whopper and large fry. I asked if they wanted a drink or anything else without telling them they were at the wrong burger joint. At the end I told them the price, and to drive up to the pick up window. When I did that they just busted out laughing. I have no doubt on the way to the window they were going on about how stupid the guy at the window was because he didn't even know Wendy's doesn't serve Whoppers. I did not send the order through, or ring anything up. I knew what the price would be and just opened the cash drawer when this guy actually paid me. They were all snickering and giggling like fools. Then I handed out his bag. We would roll down the top of the bag, then staple the receipt to the bag before handing it out. I had the bag all prepared before they got to the window. The kid that took the bag realized it did not weigh what it should for holding a burger and a large order of french fries, so asked me, "What is this?" I told him it was just what he order, a Whopper and large fry. His buddy in the passenger seat snatched the bag out of his hand shaking it to rattle the little candy, and single french fry. Then he opened it up, pulled out the Whopper and large fry to show the guy in the back seat. The two passengers really busted out laughing ribbing the driver on how bad I got over on him. The driver just sat giving me the dirtiest look. I asked if they wanted the order or if he would like his money back. His buddies tried telling him to drive off because he got exactly what he ordered, but I had him pull up and we made the Wendy's equivalent of a Whopper, and a large order of french fries. A word of advice. Never mess with people who prepare your food. Anyone that has never worked in food service would be shocked to learn how much can be done to an order before it head to the customer.

It just goes to show ya, that you never bite the hand that feeds you. You play stupid games, you win stupid prizes.

Honestly, they are trying to do their jobs and people like this drive me nuts. Good for the workers and standing up for themselves.

If you guys don't know, there's actually a product in the Philippines called "McFloat" which was made by Mcdonalds. It's basically a drink (usually coke) with ice cream on top of it, and holy sh!t it tastes so good.
@theblasphemousgamer4888 Жыл бұрын
Yeah it’s literally a normal float

That’s literally a root beer float with coke. McDonald’s didn’t make that.

@@stimihendrix3404 Didn't know they were selling root beer, though we don't have that version here in the Philippines

25 minutes is bad for fast food. Doesn't excuse them being rude but they should've had something compensated.

The sprite and soft serve could be pretty damn good tbh. It's called an ice cream float. Usually make with coke or root beer and vanilla ice cream. 🍦 It's hard to believe there are people still out there in your age bracket that has never had an ice cream float.

“Iʼm tired of people like this.” *So, youʼre tired of people who donʼt have time for your bullshit because they actually have a job?* Alright then.
