That bee hive has been there awhile.. I used to help move 1500 hives around pickle fields to pollinate the pickles.. hard job and many stings even with a suit on. One night I had them coming in my suit though the eyelet on my boot where I skipped every other hole when putting a short lace on my boots. Not fun when there’s about 50 bees in your suit !!!!! But I really loved doing it !!!!!!!

Meeting new people in the foreign countries, learning their language, eating their local food and if they have a beach... METAL DETECTING there !!! Lately, the travels have been to Mexico (Los Cabos, Cancun and Puerto Vallarta to name a few). And everyone can't forget... watching the Gigmaster videos!!! 👍👌👍

Seems to me that in Minelab's rush to get this machine to market they didn't use quality plastic or didn't test the machine enough. Coil ear breakage now machine's getting stress cracks & leaking. Minelab needs to step up to the plate and redesign or use high quality parts for these machine's. The Equinox is a great unit if these problems weren't so frequent.

Didn't indulge in any hobbies for years... work kept me moving around the world mostly in hot hostile desert places... but when Covid hit and the lockdowns started I indulged a long time desire to metal detect... see when I was a young boy my father bought me a heath kit MD and I never lost interest in finding buried treasure. Fast forward to May 2020 and the first 'stimulus' checks..I pulled the trigger and bought my first MD and my new favorite hobby began anew! I truly love this hobby and found that it filled my need to get outside and enjoy the quiet places where I could just tune out the 'world' and narrow my focus to what was just in front of my coil and sound a those 'beeps'... in those first six months I lost 20lbs and found I was more relaxed and generally happier during and after a hunt... finding 'treasure' was and still is secondary to just getting out. Today I spend most of my time on the beaches be they the Space Coast or the sands around FWB and Destin but the peace I get from my time on the sand listening to surf and watching the sun rise... priceless... truly my favorite hobby.

Metal detecting is my favorite hobby. I also enjoy coin collection. Excluding the headphones, I never had problem with my Nox 800, even after 3 years of use. The microscopic pictures you took motivated me to check the control box of my machine with a 10X loupe: there were absolutely no cracks and, INTERESTINGLY, the shape, material and sealing of the battery charging port looked different than your machine. I believe they may have changed manufacturing procedures and materials, as compared to those machines initially put into market (like mine).
