This guy and Low-Light were the two Classified figures I'd been looking forward to the most recently. Just picked up Low-Light a couple days ago, looking forward to getting my hands on Shockwave.

"Choir practice", is old school police jargon for hanging out with the boys. I suspect that is where the choir background come from. I was a SWAT officer for 3 years. Back before I was broke down and out of shape! If he worked Detroit SWAT for very long, serving on GI Joe would be a cakewalk.

Hasbro definitely owns Shockwave again. They don't need to add his name. the somewhat more popular transformer Shockwave doesn't need anything added to it. I owned the original GI Joe shockwave and was a big Beachhead fan so i am pretty excited to get my hands on this guy. thanks for the review!

Great review! Mine will be shipped 01/02/24. The guns are cool, kind look like HK MP7 sub guns. Back in 1997 when I became a sworn Gary PD LEO, we were issued straight batons instead of the PR24. Then again all we were issued was a Beretta sidearm and the baton, no shotgun, rifle or mace.

From what I have been led to believe, the backgrounds for Shockwave and Agent Helix were swapped. Shockwave is supposed to have Agent Helix's background. That's why there are police cars, etc. Agent Helix was supposed to have this background, but I cannot remember what it was about it. I think it's the location and not so much the train. Someone with more lore knowledge might know.

I have to say when I look at these "Joes" I see mostly grown ass Men, I do not see someone who just graduated from Basic training. So in that sense the Bios are kinda well "silly". I would expect him to be a Squad commander at minimum and have several years of experience and likely have his own Minions and not just be a grunt in a funny blue suit who'd never seen action at all who they recruit.

@@starlord157 It certainly feels like the Named Joes ; with Code Names have had a career in their specialist area already and the ones who don't might show enough promise to be given a Steel Brigade recruitment... Perhaps there is some specialities that require a reasonable amount of aptitude but you don't want someone straight up green on an elite team (pardon the 1980's wave one pun). It does beg some interesting questions about inter-departmental rivalries though and even more so when they also seem to co-opt people to Gi Joe who are not even American some times like Big Ben.

This figure is clearly based on wide scope version 2. I added a German Shepherd. And head swapped for the action force blue and black gas mask helmeted head. He truly looks awesome 💯

Putting the shield on his right hand was ill planned. At least they have a shield mold for the eventual (hopefully) Cobra Shock Troopers.

I was hoping there was a place to store the PR24 on the figure but I don't see a place for that sadly. So unless he's holding it, he can't have all his gear on him. Cool figure though. Thanks for the review

Looking forward to having this guy fight my Alley Vipers. I recommend swapping Classified weapons with GridIron Studios guns or Valaverse weapons. GridIron can be slightly large for their hands though and paint scrapes sometimes, but they're way better than the stock weapons they come with in my opinion. I've never heard of SWAT guys using MP7s, but I guess it's not impossible to imagine for close-quarters combat.

Overall, a great figure. As a LEO, my only complaint is one of a missed opportunity. His previous loadoud of a SMG, pistol, and knife was for the most part spot on for a SWAT operator at the time. While I get that they were trying to emulate that previous loadout, the two pistols look...odd and are not something a modern SWAT operator would use. An updated SMG with suppressor and appropriate handgun with say a tac light and/or suppressor would have looked GREAT. Also, with most SWAT crews rocking an short-barreled AR or M4 platform, would have been a perfect time to give Shockwave one of those. And also, if you're gonna put some shells on his vest, GIVE HIS MAN A SHOTGUN! He was even listed as a breecher for crying out loud! A pistol-grip style shotgun or old-school Remington or Mossberg would have been PERFECT.

Like the figure I took a knife and popped off the handle and switched it so I could put his shield in his left hand and I got a close quarters ar 15 from gridirion studios looks really good
