This is the probably the best video for acoustic treatment yet. Must see for Audiophiles...

Thanks for pointing out that the grey elm is not as grey as on their website. That's the exact finish I was looking to get, and I definitely wanted it to be grey.

Great video! I had a similar problem, minus the wife, just the echo. Lol... I ended up going with whisperwave ceiling clouds. It turned out amazing and they look really nice, every one that I’ve had over always comments on them.

Without treatment, the claps were loud, but actually hurt my ears. With treatment, it was just LOUD 😮

Put a curtain in the entry of the hallway or a movable acoustic panel. Also with the sofa up against the wall you need at least 5” bass traps full range. You are probably getting a crazy first reflection sitting on your sofa.

Thank you for the review - this was very helpful. It would have been very interested to see the before and after effects using REW, so that you knew exactly what the difference was. Still, very informative.

First of all, great video! Even though it might get hard to get approval from the wife on this, but you shouldn't underestimate the effect of an untreated ceiling - especially if you want to treat those annoying ringy frequencies you get in those rooms. And because of the rug on the floor, the ceiling gets even more promiment in comparison. It's funny though, in a recording / mixing studio you'd do exact the opposite. Putting the diffusion panels on the back wall and the absorbers on the front wall.

If you're handy and can do some DIY, you can build some of your own panels. You have a few large nooks in your living space where you can place some custom built massive panels and cover them with acoustically transparent fabric, color of your choice. They would be a huge improvement and would actually look really nice in your room.

What's up man! Great video. I'm about to treat my room with panels. So I found this video very interesting. I'm also going to use command strips. Hopefully it will hold. Thanks 4 posting this man.

Man, you need a lot more, you need some absorption, these panels which I use also keep mids and highs in place, they don't do much absorption as the 244 panels would, you need to mix them in.
@COGuyStuff Жыл бұрын
Lol old video dude. I have a ton of absorption panels plus bass traps.

You can order less than 4 panels. You have to call them and they will send you a quote.

There's a huge difference in sound from your earlier videos. The difference in sound from when your standing near the kitchen to when you stand in the middle of the listening room is like night and day. Good job! BTW The Canoe song is hard to understand even with good headphones due to her tone. It's very nasally and somewhat harsh at higher volumes. Probably not a good track to judge with.

"BTW The Canoe song is hard to understand even with good headphones due to her tone. It's very nasally and somewhat harsh at higher volumes. Probably not a good track to judge with." - that's exactly what I said in the video, and precisely why I used it, since improvements are easy to hear.

Get an absorption panel that has a print of a an “upgraded” fireplace of your wife’s choosing to go in front of the existing fireplace. BOOM! Happy wife, happy husband, happy sound!

Pretty cool setup. Did you contact either company for advice on what panels would work better for your particular room? Do you feel you would have done better with all absorptive panels (instead of diffusion) being that you have a lot of reflective surfaces? Walls, ceilings, floors, furniture, etc.
@COGuyStuff4 жыл бұрын
I already knew what I needed and would work. Yes absorption would have been better on the front wall too, but the wife only approved the diffuser design.
