Not only was MJ a lil more advanced than Kobe athletically. But he also played in an era with WAY less perimeter athletes AND had defense rules that allowed him to constantly have easy 1on1s. Compared that players that had their prime in the 2000s (dead ball era) It’s not taking away from Jordan’s greatness, he just didn’t NEED that much skill because of everything I mentioned above. Same with LeBron. That extra athleticism is the reason his skill has never been top echelon like Kobe, Kyrie etc. plus Kobe just played in the worst era for scorers possible. Another way to put it, give Kobe, Vince Carters body. Kobe would probably have 8 rings. Now imagine if you enhanced Kobe’s athleticism AND you put him in an era where you either 1.
