Gil is a pure delight. Absolutely superb tone production, including on modern instruments, always coupled to deep searching and to a sunny personality. One of the few top-level violinists who has never disappointed me in concert.

I have heard Gil Shaham play numerous times since the late 1990's in variety of settings from solo Bach through full orchestra and the two constants are the incredible beauty of his playing and his immediate rapport with his audience. This interview reinforces my feeling that he is a truly kind person, a true mensch! Thank you!!
