I was born in Laredo tx but not raised there due to my dad's job as he followed the company all over Tx but I love Gilberto Perez music as I was raised around it and 😭 sadly he passed away yesterday but his legacy will live in our hearts forever and may he rest in peace and the Lord give his family strength and comfort during this difficult time 🙏✝️

Now, I have gone thru everything, high school graduation, Military, Collage football, pro NFL (Houston Oilers) Pro Musician, & Auto Technician. My compadre Gilberto Perez bring this song to us to the times that we went thru, I played music with him and recorded this song on the early 70's, and am still playing and singing Pro music with other group in the State of Washington: GOD BLESS YOU COMPADRE AND ALL YOUR FAMILY. AMEN

This song brings tears of joy and sorrow to my DAD. It reminds of his days growing up in Laredo Texas . Working in the cotton fields from sun up to sun down . Then he was drafted into the U.S. ARMY and served a combat tour in Vietnam with the 1st Calvary Division. Came back home to the same work . But it didnt mater . He and my mom had 10 of us kids to raise. I'm proud to say that I'm his son. Thanks for uploading this song . I can say that I found it for him LOL. Thanks again. GOD BLESS TEXAS.

This song has always reminded me of my father Roberto Trevino, As far as I can remember he is and always has been a very hard working man. I love you Dad!! I appreciate all the struggle you did to give us what we needed!! People would see that he would accomplish and right away thought wrong not knowing that he would work long hours everyday to get what he has & had!!

@libby75901 Thank's for the comment. But the real truth is that we want our children to be better then us. Let them know of all the hard work we went thru, is just for them so they can be better then us. La musica still plays and remind us about the hard times that we went thru, but sometimes I still want to be there again. Good Ol' times to remember and talk about. By the way Chacha Jimenez just past away on 6-15-2011, a great loss to the Tejano music fans.
