I have been saying for 25 years that I can't afford another hobby, saving fishing of my Golden years... well a buddy took me out and I've had a blast and to say the least..."I'm hooked!" Walking to the water is so much easier than walking to the top of a mountain, many times to just do that walk up and back sometimes only for a glimpse... Fishing has given me a entire new outdoor high with catching or having success with each catch. I had no idea I'd catch the bug... my bank account would agree. Just bought a Ranger boat as a restoration project to explain what going on!

Gilbert, This is one of the finest fishing films ever made. The story, footage, sound design and editing is like no other. While there are many great films, I have yet to see anything like this filmed in the dead of night. I can't imagine trying get the footage like you did in those conditions. I have read in your comments that you use only manual focus on your GH5. You nailed it and no digital noise!. One of two complaints you hear about the GH5 is it's low light performance.(I struggle with it myself) If you did use that camera during this shoot you have proven everyone wrong. Amazing! Can you tell me what camera and lens you did use? I have watched your videos from the beginning and with your hard work You have progressed to one of the best in such a short time. Your are an inspiration to all of us who enjoy making these types of films. Keep up the great work! PTRU
@GilbertRowley4 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! Sorry for the delayed response. It was a fun and challenging shoot to say the least, and we are super excited with how well it turned out. This vid was shot on the GH5, primarily with the Tamron 24-70 lens with a Metabones Speedbooster adapter (also allows an extra stop of light in). There were a few clips that I used Red Giant's Denoiser III to clean up the noise, but not many of the clips. We used Litra lights that work AMAZING, and we tried to light every scene so that we didn't have to bump the GH5's ISO past 1600. This was the key to clean footage. Most clips were shot at f 2.8 or 2.0 (thanks to the speedbooster), ISO 1600, with a shutter speed twice the frame rate. If you end up shooting at night it's worth investing the the Litra torch lights. They are the best lightweight, portable, rechargeable lights on the market. And thanks so much for the continued support of my work. I appreciate it!
