Back in my Air Force days (1970's), we would return from night time patrol flights off the coast of Cuba in a Lockheed EC-121 and follow the Keys and the old Seven Mile Bridge from about 5000ft at 200 kts, all the way back to Homestead Air Force base. There were a few times that you'd swear the car lights were going faster than you were.

Never knew the G280 was that loud. Our G650er is much much quieter. Thanks for sharing your video.

For a transcon flight, the best way to fly 👍 especially if you can split the cost among afew friends

Thank you for the video! So I would love to see shots that show you sitting and the space around you. Like hold the shot longer and from a distance. As a 6’2” guy I’ve always wondered how small or large these jets feel in side, would it feel cramped, or especially feel cramped with every seat taken etc. Thank you thought awesome video!
@GilbertTravels Жыл бұрын
I am 6'2". Light jets definitely feel cramped for me, can't stand, head hits the ceiling with the seat up against the wall. Talking small citations, Bravo, IV, stuff like that. Mid and Super Mid like this Gulfstream, no issues like that at all. Especially since once in the air the individual seats can angle so that even two tall people sitting opposed to each other can extend their legs past one another.

@@GilbertTravels Thank you for the insight! It’s the idea of private space/room and low cabin pressure that makes me dream of flying in Private but mostly Gulfstream:)

That's a really cool beautiful plane with very nice modern interior, not like the often seen strange baroque interior in many older private jets. Did you ever fly on the Challenger 350? A comparison of both planes would be interesting.
@GilbertTravels2 жыл бұрын
Definitely a beautiful plane! I haven’t been on a challenger yet but certainly not opposed if the chance comes up.
Gilbert if you could pic your choice of plane would you go with the G280 or Challenger 350?

I get the size difference, but generally speaking. As far as ride comfort and cabin noise is their a big difference between the G280 and latitude?
@GilbertTravels2 жыл бұрын
Both are very modern and comfortable jets. Both advertise a lower level of pressurization for superior comfort. I would say there is less cabin noise on the G280, particularly with the cabin door closed. Also the pilots were able to get by without wearing over ear headphones in the cockpit.

Wonderful aircraft! Even your mic picked up how more quiet it is with that privacy door closed. Is there any benifit for the pilot choosing such a high altitude for the flight?
@GilbertTravels3 жыл бұрын
Great question, seems like there are a lot of answers. The benefits to flying at 45,000 ft instead of 35,000 like airliners is the airways are a lot less congested and there is much less chances of encountering weather, allowing for more direct routes. Business jets can attain those cruising altitudes because of the smaller cabin to pressurize and their larger wing ratio allowing them to climb faster, remain efficient, as well as avoid stalling at the lower indicated airspeeds in the thinner air altitudes.

What's the going rate on these? About 1500/hr?
@GilbertTravels2 жыл бұрын
From what I understand a super mid like that would be more like $5,000/hr.

For 1500 per hour you can get single engine turboprop.
