Life imitates art...Glen Ford became friends/lovers with Rita after this movie. Even with all her marriages, drinking and health issues, he was always there for here. He moved next door to her in 1960 until her passing. I think Glen was rather obsessed with her.

The scene when they come back from the casino and are having arguments by the entry gate of Gilda's house is awesome. Gilda teases Johnny of course, and she looks incredibly beautiful in her glittering jacket ... that glorious face, that gorgeous hair. I love it.

Qué mujer tan bella!, talentosa bailando, sensual, te quedas ignotizado mirándola. Me encantan las películas del antiguo Hollywood , sus escenarios, personajes, vestuario. Qué tioo tan bonito, elegante al bailar, era una muñeca. Yo siento orgullo de sus orígenes españoles, andaluces concretamente, se nota en toda ella. Andalucía está llena de arte y talento. Y educarse en Estados Unidos potenció su arte innato.

La peli fue una telenovela . Pero Dios cuanto me hizo feliz . Soñar , ese Buenos Aires de alemanes nazistas , ella con ese amor casi imposible , y ese reencuentro casual . Maravilla de los dos dioses Del momento ! Belleza de historia , mezquina . Sumisa , rebelde , desesperada historia de deseo y amor.

Потрясающая, неподражаемая женщина! А музыка? Что то невообразимое,наполненная тем, чтобы она звучала бесконечно: какая жизнь , такая и музыка. К сожалению , и в Америке вряд ли пишут такое-- все изменилось и у них.

BEING A RITA FAN FOR MANY YEARS, I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT ONLY ONCE DID WE HEAR THAT HAYWORTH SINGING VOICE...THE SCENE IN "GILDA" WHEN GLEN FORD IS AWAKENED BY A VOICE SINGING "PUT THE BLAME ON MAME" ...AND THERE ON THE PIANO SITS RITA AND GUITAR...IT STILL SOUNDS LIKE ANITA ELLIS SINGING BUT RITA SAYS NO.... WHAT DO YOU THINK???

I've recently heard that no where in the movie is Rita's voice used - including the scene where she sings while playing the guitar. I believe it's Anita Ellis.

Awrighty, then!!!! This was (and still is) a common practice in the business. Lip-synching is everywhere. It certainly does not diminish the movie in any way, and absolutely does not go against her superb acting abilities. Realistically? For most men, all she would have to do is sit and smile and we would be happy. KZbin "I'll Walk With God" and watch Edmond Purdom mouth to Mario Lanza. One of my most memorable performances. It takes some talent to LOOK like you are doing the job. Basically, that's what actors do, isn't it ?

Glenn Ford is such a stiff; while, Rita is such an expressive actress. Glenn's face might as well be made of plastic; Rita's is made to communicate feelings & emotions.
